Enjoyable Wooded Inn

I stayed here on business travel to the CESKA refinery nearby and enjoyed my stay here. The staff does not speak very much english, but they were courteous and worked with all of my needs. The previous reviewer does note many defficiencies of staying in a countryside inn that is more like a B&B than a hotel. The curtains do make it difficult to sleep if you need to sleep before a night shift, but in general the oddoties described I found qute, quaint, and enjoyable for a relaxing stay. I found their breakfast to be very homemade and customizable depending on your preferences, and their dinner at the restaurant was fantastic.
If you need to arrive for a late visit, they close/lock the front door so be sure they know when to expect you. Also, if you find you can here hallway noise, I recommend placing a towel at the edge of the door.
I would like to bring my wife back here one day as it was a nice relaxing stay. The beautiful forest surrounding the hotel was beautiful as the snow fell in March, and the grounds were well kept.

Not if you expect a quiet night

We travel as a family with three young children – and this stay was unfortunately a single disappointment.
On the first evening, a very loud party took place directly below our extremely noisy rooms. I have called the reception several times and asked for help. I was offered financial compensation, but a change of room was out of the question for us at all:
Walking around the grounds at night with three young children in sub-zero temperatures, repacking everything and unpacking it again for a short stay – this is understandably unacceptable for any family.
We were assured that it would be quiet on the second evening. But the opposite was true:
The music was back on until 11 p.m. Afterwards, a massive noise started by cleaning up, re-organizing, dismantling tape technology, cleaning the bar and noisy ventilation on the terrace right outside our window. Before midnight we could not turn a blind eye again. The children were completely overtired – so were we.
Also the breakfast was far below standard:
– At about 2×2 m all guests had to crowd together at the same time.
– You were constantly queuing.
– The cleaning of the coffee machine was postponed until 10 am – after that it was simply: “It’s over now.”
– There were far too few tongs/grippers, so all guests had to reach into the bread baskets with their hands.
– “Juice” was more water with flavor.
– Bowls were in short supply, cornflakes had to be filled into cups.
All in all a completely disappointing experience.
If you expect peace, sleep or a reasonable breakfast, I can not recommend this hotel.

Not good

This hotel is near to our factory and therefore location wise it's great, but the positives really end there. Arriving on a Sunday evening the receptionist could barely tear her eyes away from the TV in the bar area in order to check me in. In my room there were two single beds and as it was the first room on the corridor the noise of the TV could still be heard. I am always wary when an establishment leaves the bath towels on the bed as if they are a special treat. Had these towels been in my own home I would have thrown them out or ripped them up as dusters. A single sachet of shower gel was also on the bed. The carpet was threadbare and the curtains only just covered the windows, but were so thin that they hardly blocked any light.
In the bathroom is a 'spa shower' cubicle which has its own instruction manual. You can set it to have the radio play, lights change and lukewarm spurts of water from various angles. However my taller colleagues who arrived later in the week couldn't stand up straight in the cubicle.
Breakfast is served in a room above the restaurant in the building opposite. It was kind of adequate and toast could be made, but the coffee is made and then placed in a canister. If you get there when they happen to be filling it up you are lucky, otherwise it is tepid.
On leaving my colleague was charged the CZK amount for his bill, but the receptionist rang it through in Euro. Fortunately he noticed and EVENTUALLY the refund was made in cash, but I wonder how often this happens.
The bar area was reminiscent of a back street UK pub circa 1976 - dark, not very hygienic and with nasty furnishings.
