Shocking Accusations and Completely Unacceptable Treatment
Here is a detailed account of our negative experience:
False Accusations and Hostile Staff:
Upon arrival, we discovered that the door to one of the rooms in our party was already broken. We reported this to the reception immediately.
After dinner, we were confronted by a receptionist who accused us of kicking in the door and vandalizing property. She called us liars, refused to listen to our explanation, and told us we could leave the hotel without a refund. The treatment we received was demeaning and hostile.
Appalling and Unprofessional Follow-up:
No one from the hotel's management ever contacted us to resolve the situation.
Instead, the hotel called the organizer of the event we were attending in the middle of the night to report the alleged vandalism. This was deeply unprofessional, as the event organizer had no involvement in our private hotel booking.
General Poor Service:
Following the initial confrontation, we were completely ignored by the staff for the remainder of our stay. No one would greet us or even make eye contact, whether at breakfast or elsewhere in the hotel. This created a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
Worn-Down Hotel and Poor Standards:
The rooms and the hotel in general are clearly worn-down and in desperate need of renovation.
The walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything from the hallway and the adjacent rooms, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
Conclusion/Recommendation:
Based on the serious accusations and the utter lack of service and professionalism, we strongly recommend staying far away from Hotel U Beránka Náchod. This is the worst hotel experience we have ever had.
There are unfortunately no positive aspects to highlight from this stay.
