⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Deminka Palace – A truly beautiful stay

We spent two nights here and it was absolutely wonderful. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the hotel itself is easily the most beautiful property we have ever stayed in — full of character and charm.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. We really appreciated being able to leave our luggage securely at the hotel after check-out, so we could explore more of Prague before heading to our flight.
We did not have breakfast during our visit, so unfortunately cannot comment on that part of the experience.
Overall, a fantastic choice and we would happily return or recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.

Awful

I wish I could give 0 stars as I couldn't even stay in this hotel, I rebooked somewhere else for myself across in Old Town after the first night.
I have no idea where the 4* rating comes from. It looks fine from outside and the location is ok, and the foyer/staircases are very pretty. But the room was not great. We actually upgraded because the price was low and I was suspicious it might mean the basic rooms weren't all they cracked up to be on paper. Unfortunately the suites weren't either.
The receptionist was quick and polite. There was the usual city tax. But there was also a security deposit requested we had not been told about.
No one offered to help us with our bags, no one even told us what floor we were on.
The rooms were big, very spacious. And that was about it. There was a kitchenette with like two cups, a mini bar with no prices at all, no code for the WiFi to be found, no handy booklet about hotel services etc (I think there was a virtual concierge thing scanned by QR code by the door, only noticed it on the way out).
The beds did not look as advertised. No over overs or extra pillows. It was just two singles pushed together, with one very flat pillow on each, and a thin duvet (again, one each).
We found an extra pillow each in the cupboard but they were basically air and lumps so unusable (as were the original ones).
The bed was like a rock. Not standard EU hotel firm but like lying on the wooden floor. No padding. Could feel the springs. Kicked off agony in my hip after a short time.
The TV was small and had only a few satellite channels, just the news, something in Cuban and a couple of french channels. There were a couple of sofas which were comfier than the bed (I had to sleep on one of these the first night) but they still weren't fit for purpose.
All day there was building work opposite our room. From 8am there was also work inside the hotel, right above us, vibrating the chandelier. Whenever anyone walked along the floor above it also made loud noises. Drilling was so loud it was like it was in the room with us. With the work outside as well, it was horrible. No one told us beforehand or on arrival that there would be significant disruptions like this inside the hotel.
Asked at the front desk for a duvet/mattress topper/something soft to make the mattress less awful and they very begrudgingly offered one more duvet thing that was so thin you could use it as a napkin. We explained I have arthritis but apparently that was the most they could offer. I'm used to beds in Europe being harder than accustomed to and it isn't generally a big deal, but when I say this was like sleeping on granite I'm not exaggerating.
Also the floors were scratched up, the decor was sparse, and Ive slept better on a friend's floor after a party. The kitchen was bland, there weren't even any pictures on the walls or anything There wasn't a mounted shower either, just a handheld thing which - if held over the head too high - stopped working altogether. What 4* hotel suite doesn't have a shower?
The lift didn't always come when pressed. When it did it was full of plaster dust.
Wouldn't stay there again if you paid me.

Pleasant stay

We were visiting Prague for a stag do as a group of 12, staying in 6 rooms of 2. I was staying in a superior double room which I found to be very pleasant. Pretty spacious room with lots of room for storing clothes. The bathroom was nice and functional, shower with rainfall shower head was very nice.
Didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room, and slept well both nights we were there.
Location was good, could walk into the city centre, although a tiny bit too far to walk back after a night out! Plenty of amenities nearby, a Tesco fo lr drinks and snacks and any essentials, bar next door of the same name which was a handy meeting point for us.
Overall I found this hotel to be a pleasant and very good value spot to stay in Prague.
