Terrible.

Worst hostel experience I already had. The hostel is a bit hard to find because it does not spend on the street. You first have to go through a small alley that opens onto a kind of courtyard behind the houses, where the hostel is tucked away in a corner. That doesn’t immediately give a pleasant first impression. You enter an unfurnished stairwell, with the only 'furniture' being a drinks fridge, a croissant stand that should eventually represent breakfast and a makeshift reception - a simple counter with a different but equally unfriendly receptionist behind it and what looks more like a messy mountain shed than a reception room.
The check-in took a long time although no explanation was given about the stay; the receptionist seemed to search for my reservation forever on the computer and repeated 3 times 'so 6 nights?' - now I suspect he thought that was a bad idea himself.
There is also a 'garden' which is a stone courtyard surrounded by walls with a number of picnic tables. Many rooms open out onto it, so you can hear the sound reflected off the walls until night. The hostel guests do not consider others and are not addressed by the staff. Because it was very hot for a few nights during my stay and therefore the window was open, I could therefore hardly sleep.
In addition, there is also a 'kitchen': some tables, a fridge, 2 small induction fires, a sink and messy counters that serve as cupboards for cooking utensils. Logically, you are expected to wash and put away your used utensils, but no kitchen towels or dish towels are provided. Sponges are also not properly replenished, dish soap was there during my stay. In the same vein, they expect you to write your name and date of stay on the food you keep in the fridge, but they do not provide stickers nor ballpoint pen. My blueberries were gone from the fridge after 1 day. Because the staff does not provide the equipment to do the dishes and keep the kitchen clean, nor does they monitor the cleanliness of the kitchen or clean the room daily, the kitchen was absolutely rancid without exception during my 6-day stay. Dirty dishes piled up in the sink and the stoves were not clean. In order to cook, you first have to do all the dishes of everyone else yourself and clean the kitchen yourself. That's why I went to eat at restaurant every day, although I chose this hostel especially to save money by cooking myself. Twice I made oatmeal for breakfast - because the breakfast offered for which you have to pay 99 kronor (4 euros) consists of 1 croissant and 1 hot drink. In order to make the oatmeal, I first did all the dishes that had accumulated. I spent about an hour doing that. As mentioned, there was no towel to dry and put away the dishes - when I went to ask the receptionist for one, he gave me a dish towel without many words, which immediately became wet. Furthermore, the room: I slept in a shared room with 3 other people. The room had a private bathroom. My bed was made on arrival, there is ceiling ventilation, each bed has its own light and each guest has its own large locker with key. Those were the only positive things about the room. Neither the room nor the bathroom was cleaned properly in the 6 days I stayed there, although the occupancy of all other beds changed several times and I asked the reception twice to clean the room / bathroom. Once the bathroom looked slightly polished, but only the surface on the sink turned out to be polished. The shower leaks, leaving water on the (small) bathroom floor for the full 6 days, including hair. On day 3 I also took the hair of the previous guests out of the shower pit myself, as the water otherwise remained in the shower. The toilet was also not polished, nor toilet paper replenished - I had to ask myself that too.
Even if it is cheap, it is absolutely not advisable. Too bad I had to stay there for 6 nights.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

we came during our interrail in July 2026 to Prague, I do not recommend this hostel at all! no lock on our door, dirty place, one shower for 18 people in a deplorable state (no drainage, clogged sink).
& we paid much more than expected, be careful with the euro/czk conversions!!!
An extra 5€ per day for lockers in the rooms and it is MANDATORY!
On the other hand, the staff is attentive and very friendly! :)

Stay elsewhere

My daughter and her friend are backpacking and stayed here in July 2026. On arrival they were separated into dorms with men and were told they would have to pay more to have a room together. By the second night one of the bathrooms in the dorm had flooded. They moved put and didn't complete their stay. Avoid this place.

do not stay here

Everything about our stay in this hostel was terrible! The workers were so rude and unhelpful. We arrived to our group being split after clearly booking a room together. Then given to a room where our beds were unmade and dirty from previous guests where to we were later given out to by the workers for sleeping in the clean beds. Prague is beautiful but do not stay here!!!!!!!!!
