Pleasant spacious rooms and bathrooms -53 steps though to second floor!

spent 2 nights here. luckily i had a room with aircon so ask for it as can get hot . on the main road convenient to all the attractions. note no add ons so nothing in minibar or coffee / tea facility. has 2 floors only accessed by stairs so think about the floor you want. Note reception in afternoon from 1400. Breakfast is very good. Has jacuzzi and sauna

Elegant accommodation in a charming little town

Villa Aurelie is a newly refurbished 19th century mansion turned into a guesthouse with wellness facilities. Surrounded by a neat garden with a private car park, it is located about 200 m from the famous local sight - the 16th century paper mill.
The rooms are impressive, very spacious and spotless, with large bathrooms, ample storage room, comfy beds, modern quality equipment and free wifi. The sofa can be turned into an extra double bed, providing a comfortable room for four. You can tell at first sight that the renovation must have been a considerable investment, and I appreciate the owners managed to avoid the frilly style one could associate with such architecture.
That said, I can`t help mentioning a few little things contrasting a bit with all this luxury, and with the price which is rather high for this region. The only bath product you get is a single teeny bottle of shower gel, the cheapest kind you can get. Room cleaning has to be asked for and apparently only means a mopped bathroom floor. An electric kettle and perhaps some complimentary tea/coffee for the room would be a great addition not only for the guests coming for the ski season, especially since there is no bar or restaurant in the building.
I am sorry to say that the breakfast buffet was the biggest disappointment, pretty dull and with most products rather low-end and not exactly in line with the grandeur of the place. The effort to rely on packaged and non-perishable foods that can be offered again if not consumed is just too visible. I mean, are we seriously expected to eat in such a lovely garden, enjoying the view of the paper mill, while having Majka pate, cheap packaged jam and triangles of processed cheese? There were about 5 cherry tomatoes and a few slices of cucumber for all the rooms. It doesn't have to be smoked salmon or strawberry pancakes - better bread, fresh pastries, local cheese, quality jam, more vegetables and seasonal fruit would do the trick. In short, the guests should feel spoilt, not ripped off. They are able to offer some alternatives (such as a very nice millet bowl) but better make arrangements in advance to avoid disappointment.
To sum up, I felt a desperate effort not to spend a penny more on the guest than necessary. I was going to express my opinion in person but you know what? Noone ever asked if we were satisfied.
Breakfast aside, the atmosphere of the place is very romantic and with a bit of extra attention given to services, this villa can surely be the perfect place for a top notch get-away.
Tips: There is a lot to see in Velke Losiny - the paper mill with a museum and workshop, a castle with a uniquely preserved Renaissance interior or a spa with a park. A nearby chocolate shop sells homemade chocolates, desserts, pastries and local delicacies - it's a pity the villa does not shop there for sweet breakfast options. Šumperk is a busy little town nearby, with many shops and cafes. Jeseniky mountains are great for hiking or skiing and not as crowded as some other Czech mountains, with best starting points in Karlova Studanka, Cervenohorske sedlo or Ramzova.

Very smart hotel

We have stayed 2 nights in this nice hotel and we have enjoyed perfect and very friendly service. The owner of the Villa Aurelia had organized for us the privat dinner. Also the breakfest was very good and we could take it in the nice garden.

Excellent accomodation with great attention in a new villa.

We think that this new accomodation earns extra attention and recommandation. Great rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly caring host. The villa, tasty restored, clean and modern, is situated in a large private garden. Although located at the mainroad of Velke Losiny you don't feel any traffic-distrubance. We liked it and want to push anybody to visit this little pearl in the Sumperk-region.
Voor de Nederlandse gasten als toevoeging.. Een ontdekking die we graag willen aanbevelen. Er kan zich soms een onvolkomenheid voordoen. Als je dit aangeeft, doet de host werkelijk alles om dit 100% te herstellen.
You can expect a lovely host with a small experience in the German and English language. But that is an extra charm visiting the Villa Aurelie.
