Good

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of everything. From the restaurant, you can see the harbor, which gives the hotel a very relaxed vibe.
The hotel’s layout is quite convenient, with enough elevators and access doors.
As for the rooms, they have a very nice design. The room I stayed in was clean, with a well-equipped bathroom that had everything you need and was very comfortable to use. The room itself was also very well laid out, with plenty of space.
My only complaint about the room is that the one I was assigned had two twin beds, which were extremely small. Although I’m not a particularly tall person and the bed was very comfortable, it was simply too small.
My first night at the hotel was wonderful, but starting from the second night, apparently the guests staying in the room above mine were making a lot of noise, which could be clearly heard in my room. It sounded like people jumping or walking heavily, and this made my remaining two nights a nightmare.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of options, and you can also ask the kitchen staff to prepare your eggs however you like. The dining area is quite spacious, with enough seating for all the guests.
Overall, the hotel is beautiful and very clean.

Dear Carla S,Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your recent stay with us.We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our prime harbor-front location, spacious room design, and the overall relaxed vibe of our restaurant. It’s also wonderful to know that our breakfast selection and kitchen team made a great impression! At the same time, I am truly sorry to hear about the aspects of your stay that fell short. I completely understand how uncomfortable small twin beds can feel, and I am especially sorry that noise from the room above disrupted your final two nights. Restful sleep is essential, and I regret that this made part of your visit so frustrating. For your next visit, please don't hesitate to reach out to our front desk team directly—whether to request a double bed configuration or to let us know about any noise issues. We are available 24/7 and would have been more than happy to relocate you to a quieter room immediately to ensure you had a peaceful night. We truly appreciate your balanced review, as it helps us continuously improve. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future for an even better, fully restful stay!Warmest regards,YulianaGuest Relations Manager

Profondamente deludente

We stayed at the Admiral Hotel for three days. While Copenhagen is a fantastic city, the location is excellent, and the lobby area is charming, the hotel experience falls far short of 5-star standards, and I would absolutely not recommend staying here.
The rooms feel more like a 3-star student dorm than luxury accommodation. On the evening of our arrival, we went to the bar asking for food (burgers and basic items), but they had nothing available. Furthermore, essential services are non-existent, and everything else comes with an extortionate fee—even renting a bicycle costs double the standard city rate.
Additionally, we booked through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts, but the included perks were either denied or sparked endless debate. The reception staff were quite unwelcoming and rude, appearing completely uncoordinated as they argued among themselves about what we were entitled to.
Given the sky-high prices, poor service, and overall lack of management, I would not recommend this hotel.

Too hot

The hotel is fine but the problem is that they cannot control the temperature and so in warm weather it gets very hot. Despite asking for a fan I had a bad night’s sleep. If you stay here you need to ask for a ‘temperature assurance’. Our rooms were quite expensive to have to sleep in discomfort.

Nice Rooms and a Great Location

We spent 3 nights at the Admiral Hotel. The hotel was remodeled and was originally a warehouse and granary. As such it is very unusual inside but also very charming and the renovation is quite nice. Our room overlooked the water and we would suggest you reserve a room with the water view. The rooms are good size and the beds comfortable and the bathrobes so soft and luxurious. The rain shower was wonderful. The room also has a safe and mini-bar fridge. I noticed some reviews criticizing the air ventilation system but we found it to be very cooling even being on the 4th floor. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, easily walkable to the metro and a number of interesting sites including Nyhavn. After a long flight arriving early in the morning, followed by a long day of walking around the city, once we checked into our room we were looking forward to relaxing by the outside pool area since we were exhausted. My wife does needlepoint and needed natural light to correct some errors made on the plane ride over due to the poor lighting. We were surprised to find out there was a fee for each person to use this area as well as a time limit. The management informed us this was to keep the number of people using the pool and relaxing area limited. One concierge told us the limit was 8 persons and another 16. Our room overlooked the pool and outside area and we counted 54 seating spaces and we just wanted to sit in two of those so so she could better. The only other outdoor seating was the restaurant and bar. We were told we needed a reservation time and must pay to use that area. Paying $500/night for a room gave us a bad taste about this policy and a sense of disappointment in the hotel, especially since the area was completely empty when we wanted to use it. The policy is buried in the description of the hotel. A hotel of this caliber can come up with a better policy, perhaps having guests sign up for specific time periods without charging them. None the less, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Dear Mike,
Thank you for your review and for capturing what makes our historic waterfront property so unique! We are delighted that you enjoyed the rustic charm of our converted granary, the soft bathrobes, rain showers, and our central location near Nyhavn.
We also appreciate your direct feedback regarding our wellness and pool area. We completely recognize how frustrating it was to encounter an unexpected fee and time limit—especially after a long flight, when all your wife needed was natural daylight to unwind with her needlepoint. Finding the area empty only added to that disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for the mixed information our staff provided regarding capacity rules.
Our goal with the booking policy is to prevent overcrowding, but your experience shows where it falls short for staying guests. Your suggestion—offering complimentary, scheduled access slots for hotel guests instead of a blanket charge—is practical and thoughtful. We have brought this straight to our operations team to review how we manage access to that space.
Thank you again for your balanced review and for staying with us. We hope to welcome you both back to Copenhagen for a far more seamless visit next time!
Warm regards,
Meg
