This family-run hotel is only 30 metres from Helsingør Train Station and a 1-hour ride from Copenhagen International Airport. It offers en-suite rooms and free WiFi internet throughout the building.

The hotel is basic and right next to the train station (convenient but also very loud). The breakfast was fine. The rooms were VERY hot.

Small hotel with what you need. Minus was that the hotel is located right by the train station so there was a lot of noise

A tired hotel with an unbeatable location
Me and my husband stayed here 4 nights as part of our Denmark holiday. Hotels.com, which we booked the room through, claimed that the hotel has 4 stars, but once in place it turned out that this is a 3-star hotel. And it felt just like that: at times we experienced this hotel and our room quite tired and a bit worn. The room was relatively small and with low ceilings, but had nice, whole furniture. Nice that it was possible to make a cup of coffee and tea in the room. However, the carpet in the room gave off a certain scent (poorly cleaned?). The room had a nice, albeit rather small bathroom. However, the shampoo in the shower was similar foam to the soap by the sink. The cleaning was a bit so-and-so: when we arrived, there were small chips left in the carpet under the desk, as well as a container for lentils behind the otherwise emptied trash. When we put a towel on the bathroom floor to get it replaced, the towel was taken during the cleaning, but we did not get a new one. There was no bathroom mat, which would have been handy to have since there will be some splashes from the shower.
The best thing about the hotel was clearly the location, which was unbeatable: across the street from the train station and ferry terminal, a stone's throw from restaurants and the shopping street, as well as near Kronborg Slot. It was incredibly practical for those of us who did not have a car.
The breakfast was good and it was no problem to get full! The pastries on the last breakfast were unfortunately heavily underbaked to the point that it was just dough in the middle. No one in the staff seemed to notice anything in the 40 minutes we had our breakfast.
The day we were supposed to check out we were disturbed three times by the cleaning staff (the first time already at nine!). We got the impression that the cleaners and the reception had not communicated properly which guests had checked out.
We didn't exactly have a bad stay at Hotel Skandia, but we think it was far too expensive in relation to the quality. In other words, we would not stay at Hotel Skandia again.

This is a 2-star hotel with a 4-star price. Small rooms, ugly bathrooms. mediocre showers. But clean and usable. The beds are small but comfortable.
The location is simultaneously the best and worst thing about it. Right across the street from the train station that for some reason loves to ring a loud beep every time a train is about to leave.
Painful and hard to sleep - made worse by the fact that there is no air conditioner and therefore you must keep your window open. I'm a heavy sleeper and even I couldn't deal with the constant alarm all throughout the night.

The rooms were pretty small but beds comfortable. All clean but the property wasn’t in “super condition”. Breakfast wasn’t very good at all, smelled of bacon in the entire eating area. But the staff was very friendly.
