A great hotel in the middle of the village

Very rough hotel manager/owner ruined hotel stay
We had booked a superior room and had before asked for parking options. We were told there were plenty. When we got home in the evening, however, there were no seats because there were vans on most of the places so we had to drive around before we found a parking space behind the hotel, where it also held several vans. When we arrived there was stated that there would be some renovation work in the lower floor and if you do not accept this hotel would if it was possible to find another room in the main building. There was no particular noise why we stayed in the room. The next morning they started and now with concrete drilling, which made everything shake. After 1/2 we checked out early due to the noise at the hotel owner Lars. I made note that it was worked with concrete drilling and we could not be in the room. Lars said that we had been warned about it with the banknote and that we could only have asked for another room the day before when we saw the banknote. I replied that there was no noise and that there was a difference from ordinary craftsman noise and then from a concrete drill. Lars who had become more and more rough said that he did not agree at all and that it was our own fault that we had not reacted yesterday, he also mentioned that most drive before 9:00 the next day and therefore would not have the problem. I then asked why he had not before we arrived already given us a room in the main building when he knew there would be loud noise and we did not have the room until 11:00. He couldn’t answer that and insisted that it was all our own fault. We were checked out without an apology or regret or offer of compensation. He also said he didn't care if we gave him a bad review or complained when he owned the hotel. Do not waste time or money on this hotel for if problems arise then get in the same trip as us. Shameful.

We stayed at a plus room, which were perfect for two adults and two kids. Lovely decorated room and bathroom and super clean. All staff were so friendly and gave such a good service. The best part about our stay, was the amazing breakfast. Bread and rolls are handmade by the most lovely lady! Would highly recommend.

Nice, centrally located hotel
I have had a wonderful stay from Friday to Sunday at Hotel Herman Bang.
I got an ordinary double room with window to a quiet side street, which was really nice. The room was well furnished and the bed was good, although the mattress to my taste was for the slightly tough side. Nice bathroom.
Breakfast at the hotel is impeccable with a choice of several types of sour milk products, müsli and diverse toppings, bread, bowl, meat eggs, cheese, coffee, tea and cakes. On Saturdays, you could buy barista coffee (capuccino etc.), which I used, but this service was not available on Sunday.
Parking costs NOK 95 per day, but the reservation turned out to be for two days.
The reception is 24-hour.
The location is central and I will definitely come back.

Poor service
When we arrived at the Hotel, they had rented out the room we had booked and paid for, we complained about it with they said that they always drive with overcrowding in the high season.
I would never recommend this hotel.

Vi har mange udsolgte ankomster grundet herlige gæster som besøger vores hotel. Som vi oplyste til jer og Expedia var der sket en system fejl. Et værelse var blevet booket som ikke eksisterede i vores system. Dette beklagede vi selvfølgelig. I boede i et af vores DELUXE værelser som er større end vores standard dobbeltværelse. Måske ikke det værelse, som i havde forventet, men en difference på ca dkr. 799 blev refunderet til jeres konto via Expedia. Vi oplyste Expedia, at hvis i havde behov for yderligere omkring reservationen, måtte i hellere end gerne rette henvendelse til vores reception. Da vi ikke hørte mere fra jer, var vi af den oplevelse, at alt var ok. Vi vil så gerne have, at vores gæster føler sig velkommen. Men er selvfølgelig kede af at læse, at i ikke ønsker at anbefale vores hotel til andre i kender. Vi vil alligevel glæde os til at kunne byde jer velkommen igen en anden gang, hvis i skulle ombestemme jer.
