A lovely place to stay

After have been travelling through Europe on our way home to Sweden, ending up at Huset i Hejls was the most wonderful experience. Friendly and familiar and the whole place created with warmth and heart. We will most certainly come back - and bring our friends. Just the thought of renting the whole place (which is possible) creates a lot of future dreams of a longer stay in the area.
Don’t expect a hotel feeling. This is more a guest house we’re you feel at home and part of it. Even for just one night.
Think danish “hygge” ;)

The booking was online and you get a front door code and a bedroom assigned to you. You see no staff.
You have to make your own bed. Not worried about that but there were no working electric sockets in the room and I need a CPAP machine working at night. Shared toilet which was not mentioned on the website and the only shower was downstairs and we were upstairs.
On the good side, it was very clean and tidy and it was an unusual building, much prettier on the inside than the outside, really quite quirky but in a good way. We saw a lady at Breakfast and that was very nice. An excellent restaurant just 2 Km down the road on the coast.

The Environment was spacious and very close to nature.
The bathrooms and toilets were out of the room.

Excellent accommodation and was perfect for our tour of the area. Rooms are not ensuite but bathroom was only across the hall so no issue for 1 night.

Late arrival but contacted the Hotel and Betina was very helpful. Hotel was previously a retirement home with bathrooms across the corridor. I would usually go with en-suite room but this was fine. Rooms had a personal quirky feel which was lovely! Betina has her own workshop with items to buy. I paid extra for breakfast which was worth the money
