great place to stay!
it was fine, we went in an tent (cause there were no rooms we could find), we went on an boat to an beach (idk the name) and wifi is as average as the rest of dr.
would recommend bringing some bug repellent; theres flies
noise level is fine, not that loud. they play some music at the bar (in front of the lobby), and employees are nice. from santo domingo its 7 hours, so i would recommend some stops an any place to chill down and relax
its real clean in the tents, outside and in the lobby. idk the value cause i didnt register. a must for traveling.

Urgent improvements for Eco del Mar
I'll start with the good. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the place is incredibly beautiful in nature. The two stars I give this place are for its employees and the beautiful surroundings. I have nothing good to say about it.
It is seen that this boutique hotel had a time when they had attention to detail but the excess demand (until now, because they will soon finish the Hyatt and rooms for tourists will abound) and little competition has put them in a place of absolute advantage and abuse of their privileged place. They have the hotel with zero attention to detail and yet every weekend they are fully booked.
A pity that holds some people unbeatable success is synonymous with falling into sloppiness and disinterest. It is one thing for a place to be rustic and quite another to have peeled walls, broken bulbs, lame furniture and shabby closets. There was also no hot water and the $300 weekend hut per couple is wall to wall with the neighboring room, you can hear it up to the breath of the next room.
Dinner was passable, but too expensive for what it is. In addition, they take the c use that there is nothing nearby to buy inputs and thus charge what they want, which is no longer true because there are more and more businesses near the place.
With very little it would return to being a 5 star place. For now they deserve nothing more than two.

REGRETTABLE ACCESS, REGRETTABLE
I hope the hotel lives up to expectations, because the access road is a REAL TRASH...more than two hours of bumps and holes...unfortunately. At least you could advise when booking to rent a vehicle according to access. Really regrettable.

Don't be fooled by the photos!
The description of the proposed VIP TENT did not correspond to reality at all! You could only stand upright in the central part. Impossible to resist the heat even in March. We had to opt for the hut, very expensive in relation to the services offered by the structure. Shortage of food at both breakfast and lunch. In the evening it is almost impossible to have dinner. To get there there is no road: it would require an off-road vehicle which we didn't have and we arrived with great difficulty. Impossible to think of moving to Pedernales to visit the pueblo. The desert surrounds the Lodge: we are in a natural park, we were told! Only the location is beautiful: the Bahía de las Aguilas.

Improvable
It is important that people who are considering visiting this destination are aware that the roads to get here are in poor condition and that they should be prepared with mosquito repellent. Furthermore, being in such a remote place, they must be well prepared. As for the hotel, there are many deficiencies that can be improved, such as the treatment by the reception, the hammocks need to be washed, and I think they should be a little more professional in customer service since it is not a budget hotel. The food was quite acceptable but remember that they add an additional 28% to the bill between taxes and tip.
