I recommend the hotel; there are four of us in my family, and the room perfectly meets our needs—it is spacious, clean, and very well organized. The reception staff are very attentive. It’s a great option for anyone wanting to enjoy the excursions in Punta Cana without staying at an all-inclusive resort. It is well worth it.

I received great service. Entire staff was beyond helpful even with the language barrier at times. From the front desk to the house keepers. Very polite and well mannered. I would recommend staying here again and again. Safe, friendly, clean. I even accidentally left my door wide open one day and was gone the entire day. Nothing was disturbed. Walking distance to stores. Excursions pick you up right in front of the building. It gets no better.

We (myself and my 3 year old) had a good stay. Location was ideal, with everything we needed within walking distance, or a short (and affordable) ride away. In the immediate plaza: several restaurants, pizza shop, cafe, mini market, ATM (all walkable). Not in the same plaza, but also walkable: a full grocery store. The hotel is directly across the street from the main gate of the Lopesan Resort - we booked a Monkeyland activity through Viator, and were able to arrange for pickup there. Not the safest to walk to the beach/Cielo Beach Club, but possible, or it’s a very short ride away. Ubers were always available quickly and affordably in the area for us. If heading to beach club, take your own towels - when we visited Cielo, they were always either out of towels or had already ended towel service for the day. Room was as advertised, but could have been a bit cleaner. Having a kitchenette & washer/dryer was very convenient (there is one appliance that both washes and dries). Minor gripes - our safe didn’t work, nor did the button on our phone to call to the front desk. Hot water was limited, we had to shower quickly to not run out of hot/warm water. Sofa bed in 1BR was a VERY small fold-out futon (we had to request extra bedding for it). Fine for us as it was for a 3 yr old, not ideal for an adult. Pools could have been cleaner. Rooms facing Av. Alemania are noisy at night. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and the entire staff was amazing. Absolutely recommend for families.

The front desk staff is top notch, particularly Jose and Hacell. They were patient with our large group check in, helpful when I had questions and responded quickly when I had an recurring AC issue. I saw Hacell handle a particularly difficult customer and calmly diffuse the situation. The accommodations are beautiful and well appointed, but the property should more accurately be described as a condo or apartment property rather than hotel. The hotel info regarding shuttle service is misleading. It indicates the service is available, but really should just say that the front desk can call a shuttle (in other words taxi or van) for you. The beach and usable beachfront property should be in walking distance, but the direct route in front of the property is a narrow and dangerous two-way road with no sidewalk, unlit at night and runs right through several construction projects.

The rooms are massive for the price.
But everything good has its down.
I would stay here again!
The bad things:
- no hot water
- WiFi only in living room
- Netflix and YouTube only
- breakfast offered at unreasonable high price
- hundred dollar deposit
Good things:
- comfy beds
- kitchen, living room, bedrooms
- conveniently placed
- pools
- AC works
I ended up switching hotel from a very crappy one. If you’re looking at staying at Melina Hotel go ahead and cancel and stay here. They got roaches, they scam, and the rooms are 1/5 of the size, and I am not exaggerating.
The beach is close. There’s shops close. Plenty of restaurants close. Walkable places to eat and grab a quick snack.
