Do NOT recomend!

Location is excellent, right by the sea. But that is where the positive stops. Atmosphere, okay. Rooms, okay but watch out for insects and amphibians. My room had small holes in the walls (around the plumbing), going straight outside. Value, overpriced for what you get. Noise level, horrible. I could hear what they were talking about in the kitchen, when in my room. And I could hear EVERYTHING from the romantic couple next door. Cleanliness, okay although the towels were stained, and the bathroom design was so bad, the floor got wet and slippery from the leaking soap dish, through the hole-design counter. And the light switch for the bathroom was on the inside ledge of the shower.... Service, horrible. The staff was slow and disinterested. When we complained about sharp seashell pieces IN the food, they said "They're supposed to be there". They constantly got orders wrong. And the food was overpriced and lacking itself. The beach and ocean was excellent, but you can get that from another hotel/hostel as well. Farallon Dillon does not own the beach. I would NOT go there again, and recommend you look for another place, unless you like bad service, paying to much, lizards in your room, bad food and a noisy environment.

Farallón Dillon

Farallón Dillon is an accommodation characterized by being created by a French navigator and is located in Santa Elena facing the beach. And it differs from other accommodations because it has its own museum where pieces of boats, whale bones, maps, and many more items can be found. It has a lookout point where you can see birds and whales in the months from July to September. Restaurant with à la carte dishes, swimming pool, tennis court, hammocks by the sea, and much more.

My opinion

My experience as a stayer was regular there was not much water in the bathrooms. The terrible attention because at the time of the meal I passed a fish in seafood sauce and the fish itself tasted very strong urine I told the chef to change but said everything was fresh and returned the plate

Lovely lunch stop on the way to Montanita

We were passing through on a roadtrip up the coast so didn't spend the night. Could have sat here all day watching the seabirds while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere and a wonderful lunch. A bit pricey by Ecuadorian standards, but worth every penny. Be sure to try the ceviche. And take a few minutes after your meal to explore the museum of shipwreck relics.
