I DON'T RECOMMEND IT, BAD EXPERIENCE.

Honestly it was not what I expected, I was very disappointed, I was carried away by the good comments I read, however, my stay was not pleasant. The room was fine but the bed had a stained bedcover and the pillows were also dirty and there was no TV. The bathroom had nowhere to put toilet paper or other personal hygiene things. The next day we were woken early in the morning by the construction noise. Breakfast is super basic bread, scrambled eggs and American coffee, the two days of our stay was the same breakfast with the same watermelon juice, they should improve the options. The service of the person who served us at breakfast was lousy, unwilling with no desire to work.. They also do not perform room cleaning and restocking of towels or soaps and paper. For a next insurance trip it is better to look for another option to stay, I do not recommend it.

Great place with great food, great staff, and a great location.

I was just in Montañita for a long weekend to surf. I arrived on Friday around lunch time and as soon as I got there they fixed me a Peruvian Ceviche for lunch and it was just as good or better than many ceviches that I've had in Peru. The room had a comfortable bed with A/C, hot water, and a hammock on the porch. The staff were great, the owner also surfs and took me to all of the best local spots to surf. Montañita is a wild party town with a lot of noise so the location was perfect because it was less than a 5 minute walk from town and just far enough away that I didn't hear the noise from the clubs at night. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic place to stay

Friendly owners and staff, always happy to help and very attentive. Four of us arrived and rented two rooms and were not disappointed. The place have a very eco friendly feel and it's just a perfect place to relax and sleep, they offer surf lessons with the best local instructors for a good price and also massages by a qualified masseuse. This place is very much recommended to those looking to staying in a quiet/green place with a lovely atmosphere.

Wouldn't stay there again

First let me say that the restaurant is closed so the reviews talking about the food and wines don't apply anymore.
There are two types of rooms, the little hut ones and the glass door ones.
I believe the glass door ones are more modern but I haven't been inside.
We stayed in Hut 1. Kind of place you put your shoes ON before going in. Very dirty.floors, walls, sink, shower.. everywhere.
The electric shower wires would start smoking after 5 min of use and plastic melting off.
The staff is very nice and friendly but that hut in particular could do with a good clean throughout and repair the shower head !
A bit noisy at night but that was expected.
