Easy.

Quiet and pleasant single floor hostel with rooms to a covered but open corridor that gives you the feeling of being almost in a private house.
Very friendly and willing the manager who also brings us breakfast the day we leave to square us with our early departure time

This hotel was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of our whole 2 weeks in Galapagos!

I am truly not overstating it when I say this place was one of the best things about our whole trip! Clean, beautiful, and comfortable with very recent renovations (looks nothing like the older pictures on here), the best thing about this place is the owners, Maria and Dixi. We stayed 5 days here and left feeling like FAMILY!
Lobby and breakfast area are gorgeous. Breakfast (included) was fruit, eggs anyway you like, amazing bread and cheese, coffee, and fresh squeezed juice. Weekends we even got patacones (mashed plantains with cheese!).
Maria is also a certified naturalist guide and native Gapalaguena who was more than happy to help us plan each day on the giant map on the wall in the lobby. She was 100% spot on with each recommendation she freely gave, and we enjoyed every single thing she recommended!
Our room was comfortable and very clean. Daily housekeeping was great and we had fresh water and towels and sheets daily. Lovely hot water rain shower head in bathroom, and a mini fridge also!
Don’t let the word “hostel” fool you... this is a lovely boutique hotel for the price of a hostel! It was a luxury of the Galapagos to have in room WiFi also.
We were truly sad to have to leave after our 5 days there, and would recommend this lovely place without hesitation to anyone!!!

Great wifi and rooms, but nearby construction is noisy

Impressed that the Cactus Hotel had wifi in every room. Friendly staff and clean rooms. A few streets back from most restaurants and shops. However, the construction at the hotel, aswell as next door made the hotel very noisy during the day.

Stay away from the front rooms!

Basic accomodation - appears clean but air con in Room 24 is extremely noisey. Good water pressure and hot temperature. A wee walk to the waterfront - 15 minutes. Wifi was ok. Breakfast is very basic but includes a very small portion of eggs, some bread, tea or coffee. Reception is not always manned but helpful when he was there. There is a safe for valuables, If you offered / assigned rooms 23 or 24, be warned that there is a bar directly across the road goes on till about 12.30am - the noise and music is hideous! But I did have the choice of putting the air con on to drown the noise out. Supermarket is on the corner - a minutes walk. I stayed as apart of an Intrepid group.

Clean accommodations, ok location

I stayed here as part of a tour group. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, the bathroom was showing signs of wear. The room had air condition, but the unit is very noisy. The location is close to several mini markets, but several blocks from the main strip and port. Taxis from place to place on the island are about $1-2 so the location isn't too much problem
