Great location and lovely family, very clean!

This hostel is in a great location on the sea front in Puerto Lopez, right next to the pier where trips to Isla de la plata depart from, also, the fish market is just in front of the hostel for lovely fresh fish. The family that own and run the hostel were very welcoming and very helpful with every request. The hostel is small with only four modest double bedrooms (two of the bedrooms can be connected to form a suite), but is comfortable. There is a good terrace area and kitchen where meals can be prepared. The double room at the back of the hostel also has a semi private terrace, which is nice for some privacy. All of the rooms have private bathrooms. The cost per night was $30, not bad for Puerto Lopez. Wifi patchy.
In regards to the cleanliness, I couldn't disagree more with the poor review posted here: the rooms were immaculate and cleaned every day. The lower courtyard of the hostel is dusty (sand), but so is most of Puerto Lopez! It is a shame that one poor review has brought down the overall rating of the hostel and I would encourage anyone to disregard that one review.

Poor hostal, dirty, cold, no hot water

One of the worst hostals we have stayed at in Ecuador. The hostal grounds were dirty and unkept. When we arrived the bed nets were covered in stains and bugs. When we told the owner she shrugged and did nothing. There is no hot water at all. There was no door on the bathroom, instead they used a shower curtain. There are much better places in Puerto Lopez that are cheaper.

Probably the best place to stay in Puerto Lopez

We stayed in Puerto Lopez to leave for Isla de la Plata the next morning. The family owning Casa de Heidi is very welcoming and friendly and offer great advice for traveling. Due to their network, they can also set you up with the guides to Isla de la Plata for a reasonable price. The hotel is located right next to the wharf where boats are leaving for the island but the room is still quiet. Our room was clean and spacious and the outside terrace with ocean view is very nice too, but still needs a handrail. Altogether Casa de Heidi is absolutely recommendable and a great value for money deal.

Die Besitzer des " Casa de Heidy" sind sehr gastfreundlich und bemüht. Sie geben gute Tipps für Ausflüge und helfen beim Buchen. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung. Leider nur Duschen mit kaltem Wasser und das Frühstück ist meiner Meinung nach etwas zu teuer. (2 Eier + 2 kleine Brötchen + Kaffee = 5$) Ansonsten eine nette, familiäre Atmosphäre.

Il y a beaucoup de meilleures options dans cette ville.

Cette apartment n'est pas propre. La propriétaire est pas intéressé par la retroaction sauf si elle est positive. Elle était désagréable a mon mari quand il lui a demandé comment récemment elle a nettoyé avant notre arrivée.
Heidy nous a dit que nous étions les premiers à se plaindre des conditions de son appartement, donc elle a estimé nos préoccupations déraisonnables.
Ce fut une très mauvaise experience pendant autrement beau voyage en Equateur.
