Decent value family break hotel
It's a big hotel resort, with 2 hotels joined into 1 so multiple pools, 2 main buffer restaurants.
The location is great, in the city centre in Sheraton Road, the main shopping street. Plenty of taxis, and a 20 minute walk to the Marina. Its definitely worth trying local restaurants for cheap high quality food and to break the monotony.
We booked 2 garden view rooms and on arrival the check in offered us a choice of a junior suite, but as I was travelling with my 2 adult child I felt that we needed 2 bathrooms so declined and took the 2 separate rooms.
In the morning I found that the view was of wasteland next door, so asked reception if they could move us. We were shown the Royal Suite and offered this upgrade free of charge, which was very generous and offered exactly what we needed, though it did mean that 2 rollalong beds had to be brought in because the sofabed wasn't functional as a bed. They're ok but only just comfortable.
Dining is repetitive and the food fairly bland in the buffets. Its nearly always beef stew, roast chicken and undercooked fried fish. You also have to put up with lots of Russians pushing in and generally being ill-mannered. I would say that 90% of guests are Russian.
All inclusive drinks are typical local beer and spirits, and absolutely fine.
The evening entertainment is good: dance and fire shows, and a magician. There's a spa (at extra cost) and gym, and you can take boat trips directly from the hotel beach. Tip: negotiate hard because they are expensive compared to off-site tour companies.
As with most hotels the staff are very friendly and helpful. They work hard to keep customers happy and earn tips.
It's a clean hotel - we didn't have any tummy problems, but maintenance is lacking. Wobbly taps and loose cupboards doors and handles.
On balance it's a decent hotel and 4* Egyptian is equivalent to 3* by UK standards.

Perfect family vacation
I would like to thank you all for amazing vacation we had in May. We were probably only few people from Lithuania, but my mom, aunt, daughter and me were impressed about the hotel, how everything is planned, how clean it was, the food and shows in the evening are very well organized.
Hotel is in great location, close to everything you need. Beach is very clean and stuff is friendly. Animation team is great, pools are very clean and coach is always taking care of it.
Special thank you for a person who cleaned our rooms- 5226 and 5230 during our stay, for art from towels, daughter was very happy.
And also special thank you for Ashraf Fathi, who works in Cabana beach bar, he always was very nice and took good care of us, really amazing work he is doing with really great cocktails- and always remembered exactly what we will want :).
We will for sure be back and will recommend this hotel to friends and family members who will travel to Hurghada!

Awful
Worst trip in Egypt. The beach is very small and very crowded, no space at all. The staff are absolutely rude. Asking for tips gor the most basic stuff. We had booked a triple room and they gave us a twin bedroom and they got us a military bed (and they asked for a tip for bringing the bed lol). We paid for all inclusive and we still had to pai for some stuff in the resort. The bar was always out of stuff to make drinks and was rude to you. The rooms smell. The dining is so small you are always going into other people. Awful

Inexpensive but nice hotel
If you are looking for a hotel where you can shed a few pounds through sheer exhaustion, or alternatively gain five pounds of pure carb-and-cocktail weight in under a week, Seagull Beach Resort is your spiritual home. My husband and I spent a week here, and let me tell you, our marriage survived—which honestly deserves its own commemorative plaque by the lobby bar. The Location & Vibe. Location-wise, it’s right in the heart of Hurghada, which means you can step outside and immediately be greeted by twelve taxi drivers offering to take you to a "very special pyramid store" (spoiler: it’s just papyrus and perfume). The resort itself is huge, bustling, and has two different beaches. Perfect if you enjoy the classic morning Olympic sport of "Towels on Sun loungers at 6:00 AM." My husband tried to participate once and nearly lost an arm to a German tourist who had staked her claim before dawn. We learned our lesson: snooze, lose, and sit on the sand. Also, a huge shout-out to Sheriff Egypt for organizing our trips—their prices are significantly lower than what the hotel guides try to charge! We highly recommend booking their private tours to Cairo and Luxor. The guides speak fantastic English, and traveling in their brand-new, comfortable 2026 minibus made the long drives absolute a breeze. The Room. We stayed in a standard room. It was clean, functional, and came with air conditioning that either functioned as a gentle Egyptian breeze or a North Pole blizzard—there was no middle ground. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows felt like they were stuffed with compressed regret. But hey, we didn't come to Hurghada to stare at the ceiling; we came to figure out why the safe required a PhD in nuclear physics to lock. Food & Drink (The Battleground) Ah, the main restaurant. Entering it at peak dinner hour is equivalent to filming an action movie without a stunt double. The Good: The pastry section is a dangerous masterpiece. If you like your cakes swimming in syrup and your waistbands expanding in real-time, you will be thrilled. The Bad: The local wine tastes like a chemical experiment gone slightly wrong, and the cocktails come in plastic cups small enough to make a goldfish thirsty. My husband made friends with a bartender named Mahmoud, which magically upgraded our tiny plastic cups to slightly larger plastic cups with an extra umbrella. Diplomacy at its finest! Pools & Beach. The Red Sea is breathtaking. The water is so clear you can see your own poor life choices right through it. The slides at the water park are fun, provided you don't mind landing in the splash pool with a mouthful of chlorinated water and a bruised tailbone. My husband went down the yellow slide twice and declared his inner child was officially dead. The Verdict. Is Seagull Beach Resort a five-star luxury sanctuary of silent peace? Absolutely not. It is loud, vibrant, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. If you go with a sense of humor, a high tolerance for buffet lines, and a husband who doesn't mind sharing his last fries with a very aggressive local cat, you will have a fantastic time. We came back with a massive sunburn, matching belly rolls, and enough funny stories to last until our next vacation.
