good place to stay in a central location in beautiful Porvoo

The hotel's location is very central, yet quiet, rooms modern, beds comfortable, shower with curtain, caused a small flood… Breakfast is not lavish, but okay if you want to eat directly at the hotel. Definitely try the Runeberg chocolate kisses! Otherwise, there are nice cafés around. We had two rooms: one in the back with a view of a tarred roof but absolutely quiet, and one in the front facing the street with a nice view of a tree but some traffic noise. We parked on the parallel street using the app. It was cheaper than in the parking garage. The staff was super friendly. Like everywhere in Finland! ☺️

Porvoo in the heart tradition and perfect location

Perinteikäs Hotelli Sparre, as they say - a traditional hotel in the real centre of Porvoo, a stone's throw from the wonderful Old Town.
Location is everything: get off and you are already among the red houses on the river, the craft shops and restaurants. 0.3 km from the Old Town and right next to the bus station, so convenient if you arrive from Helsinki or if you want to get around on foot.
The hotel is historic, not a designer 5 star, but it has that authentic Finnish charm that I always look for: clean rooms, hearty Finnish breakfast, super friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Moderate price, which for Porvoo center is great, as there are very few hotels.

Plain hotel in central location.

Good, central location to walk to Porvoo's sights. Hotel is ordinary but OK, and room was small.

Good hotel in a central location, but too warm in summer.

It is difficult to evaluate the hotel. It is very centrally located and offers a garage for cars at an additional cost. The decor is simple but good, and the beds are comfortable. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is plentiful and good.
The problematic aspect is that the hotel does not have air conditioning. This should not be a problem in Finland generally, but we had 25 degrees, and the room was very warm. Opening the window was not an option, as the street in front of the hotel is very loud. The quality of sleep was therefore not good.
