One of those rare hotels where the room, the architecture, the forest and the restaurant together become the destination. We loved everything about our stay

Stunning location, serious hygiene failure — and a response that made it worse

There is no pleasure in writing a one-star review for a property this visually striking. But the experience we had warrants an honest account.
After returning to our room following an evening tour, we discovered the right side of the bed visibly contaminated with body hair — including what appeared to be shaved pubic hair. The bed was not in a usable hygienic condition.
Response time and quality: We contacted the hotel immediately via their WhatsApp service. It took over 30 minutes for a staff member to respond. At no point were we offered cleaning, a room change, or any practical alternative. The only response was a written apology.
How we resolved it: We removed the contaminated sheets ourselves and used bedding from the second bed in the room.
Follow-up: After escalating formally, Hotel Manager Katarina Bobotova offered a 50% refund as a “gesture of goodwill.” Her position was that the room “remained in use for the duration of the stay” — which is technically true, but only because we had no choice and no support. The offer did not reflect the seriousness of the breach.
The matter remains escalated through both Booking.com and our credit card provider.
The Arctic TreeHouse concept deserves better execution and a more guest-centric response culture. As it stands, I cannot recommend this property given what we experienced and how it was handled.

Dear Mr Politi,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We are truly sorry for what you encountered during your stay, this falls far below the standards we hold ourselves to and the experience our guests deserve.
We take cleanliness and guest comfort extremely seriously and we sincerely apologise that we failed to meet those standards on this occasion.
We are also sorry that our team did not offer you an alternative room right away and this is something we should have done without hesitation.
Your feedback has been taken seriously internally and we are using it to improve our processes.
We hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust in the future.
Kind Regards
Katarina

The best experience in Lapland

We’ve had wonderful stay here. Our room is super cozy with stunning view of the forest. Big glass windows offering the best view, we just lay down on bed and enjoy sunrise, and star sky in the night. Breakfast was huge with such a nice collection of food including some special ones from local.
We had dinner at Rakas and it was really really good. I gotta mention one of the activities that you must experience while staying here is massage. We got to know Sarah our massage technician lady who was really good at what she doing and amazing personality too.
Just 5 mins away there is a reindeer farm that you can visit walk and feed the reindeer also are very indeed special
Love it and definitely will come back during winter time

Thank you so much for your lovely review
We are truly happy to hear you had such a wonderful stay with us. It is great that you enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and those peaceful moments by the window, from sunrise to the starry night sky.
We are also delighted that breakfast, your dinner at Rakas, and especially your massage experience with Sarah made your stay even more memorable. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to her.
And yes, the nearby reindeer experiences are something truly unique in Lapland. We are glad you had the chance to enjoy that as well.
It means a lot to hear you would like to return. We would love to welcome you back for a whole new magical season.

Light and dark

Luxury hotel with stunning looks but there were things we didn't like. The uncomfortable bathroom, barely fit my need in the surroundings of the pike, the uncomfortable shower with a screen that cost to open or close by its shape, the room was not comfortable to spend time or even to leave the suitcase, if I wanted to leave it outside to go taking things you should make space apart the chairs on the floor itself. I think it puts a premium on design over usability.

Great trip but not 5*

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 & 10). We stayed in one of the family suites and it was very comfortable and spacious with 2 bedrooms and sitting area. It was nice but didn’t feel as special as the price tag would indicate.
The breakfast was ok but I felt the food for lunch and dinner was overpriced.
The tours were good.
We had a great trip and I’m glad we went but I feel we could have had a similar experience in alternative accommodation for a lesser price tag.
