Not worth the money

Skip this place and rather pay a few Euros extra. The rooms are bad, the staff is terribly unfriendly, the location is the worst, the price is beyond what you should pay for such a place, and the experience is very depressing ...

Disgusting

I booked the hotel and advised that I will be arriving late due to work, I arrived at 02.45 after a long day only to be told to go away I explained to the night manager I have paid for 2 nights, he shouted at me in french then pushed me and slammed the door closed.
I returned the next day and asked why this happened The manager said I cam late and I should leave using disgusting language? I said you took my money?
I travel every week for business over the last 10 years and I have never been so insulted and treated so badly.

Nothing to crow about!

This hotel is acceptable, but not one to write home about. We found it to be a little further out from the centre of Arles than we would have liked. The hallway had an odor to it, but the whole top floor was aired out by the cleaning staff each morning. The bed was comfortable enough, and air conditioning was appreciated. The bathroom was good. We were put into a room on the highway side, so we could hear the traffic most of the night. The wifi would not work in our room, so we had to go down to the lobby to use our computer. We did not use the breakfast facilities, but there is a daily breakfast available for a cost. We did have a drink one evening in the dining area, so that was a nice treat, without having to go back to Arles.

Ask t see the room before you check-in

My room smelled bad and there were stains on the bathroom countertop. Kind of a gungy night. The staff was a bit rude. Even though I checked in at midnight, they knocked on my door at 11:00 am sharp for payment for another night (or check-out). Maybe this was good since I left the hotel and found a much better one (Hotel D'Arlatan) for about the same price.
To be fair I looked inside another room and it seemed cleaner, but don't waste your time at this hotel if you can find another oner closer to town. By the time you pay for taxis, it will cost you more and you won't enjoy Arle's amazing historic atmosphere nearly as much.
Really I took a second shower after I left Crau Hotel to get rid of the grime that accumulated from my dirty room.

Acceptable hotel, excellent breakfast

This hotel is part of a chain. Perhaps for that reason, it has no character. Also, the carpet in the room was dirty.
We were surprised to find that no meals (except breakfast) are served on the weekend. This was particularly unsettling because the hotel is a fair distance from the town itself.
The buffet breakfast, however, was superb. It included baguettes, croissants, other breads, sweet rolls, three kinds of yogurt, two dry cereals, cheese, ham, hard-boiled eggs, coffee, juice, tea, chocolate, and fruit (both canned fruit cocktail and fresh fruit).
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The other advantage of this hotel is that it provides free parking.
And it does have air-conditioning.
