Very nice people and very relaxed stylish place

We had a really good time. Everthing was catered for. The host was very friendly and the quietness of the location, comfortable bed, cleansliness. In short eveything we needed to have a short rest on a busy holiday.

Comfortable and central

I enjoyed the studio apartment I had, which was tastefully decorated and had all the facilites required. Another plus was that the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed being able to eat there especially having breakfast. Although it was fine for a single person, it would have been crowded for a couple as it is just one room with a separate bathroom.
The location is great, just a 5 minute walk to the train station and to the old town.
I only saw the owner when I first arrived as on my final day I left early.

A very convenient room and a helpful landlady!

My husband and me stayed at La Madeleine for 6 nights, and the experience was wonderful. A very stylish room, both cosy and atmospheric. A nice kitchen zone, fully equipped and clean. The landlady was very helpful in everything, she even explained us how to get to the main places of interest, local markets and so on. Still, she stayed non-inrusive and never disturbed us. If you want to rent a studio in Avignon, La Madeleine is the right choice!

A nice relaxing stay

I was visiting family in Avignon, while also wanting to be able to relax and having my independence. I enjoyed the pool and peace in between busy family schedules. The studio flat
was perfectly adequate, clean and basic. If you arrive late and are hungry, be prepared to hit the town via a slightly gloomy under bridge path, however I had no safety problem at any point.

OK, except for the exceptionally rude and unpleasant owner

The residence is overall decent and located close to town - about 20 minute walk from the center of Avignon, but includes a quite unpleasant passage on a busy, dusty suburban street and under a railroad bridge. This is discomforting and feels unsafe at dark.
The worst though is the uncivilized treatment of her guests by the owner, who lacks basic manners and human kindness. Her fake politeness at reception evaporates soon after people have settled. In addition, she is ridiculously cheep on supplies.
There are better ways to request that her sometimes unreasonable rules (like chairs be kept only indoors) be followed, than screaming and insulting her clients. My belief is that no one should accept such treatment and I would strongly discourage anyone from staying there.
