Nice B&B, full of character and hospitality

Nice old declassified "grande hotel" in a very quiet corner of Bagnoles. Nice garden and salon. Room is small, turn of the century furniture, but clean. Breakfast is tasty with fresh fruits and local products

Well equipped and spacious 3 bed apt.

We normally camp at the municipal site in Bagnoles-de-l'orne but due to the cold weather last year we decided to try an apartment. This apartment was great value. The owner spoke enough English that we could communicate between that and my pretty bad French.
The kitchen was very well equipped with hobs, oven and large fridge and it has spacious rooms. Our family who live near by came for meals with us there and there was ample space and equipment for cooking etc.
You get your own 2 sets of keys so you can come and go as you please. We often didn't come back until midnight or so and no one seemed to mind.
It's very quiet - you can get a good sleep and lie in and you won't be disturbed.
This place is 5 mins walk from a handful of shops incl the bakery for the morning, 10 mins to the chateau with beautiful grounds for a picnic and a playground, skatepark, basket ball park etc.. A walk of 15-20 mins gets you right in to the pretty town of Bagnoles.
Be aware that towels and bedding is not included when renting the large apartment and that the beds only have one pillow each so you may wish to take more.
Overall and good stay and I would recommend.

Friendly Hotel

The hotel is a nice big old house, some of the rooms have balconies on them, very nice for looking out onto the countryside surrounding Bagnoles de L'Orne. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast was really tasty and we were asked if we wanted any more food, which was a good touch. The owner was very pleasant too.
Only drawback is that it is 10-15 minutes walk into town, but I enjoyed the walk myself, but if you are a bit frail, this may be more of an issue.

Seen better days

This guest house is in a very grand house that in its heyday must have been magnificent, but sadly those days are long gone. It was clean enough but very old fashioned. I'm all for old fashioned but not for shabby which is what this was. The breakfast we had was very mediocre with a small portion of fresh fruit each, some homemade yogurt, a piece of cake or a couple of biscuits and 2 pieces of bread each that had been 'shown the toaster' rather than had been toasted. Lovely homemade jam but no fresh croissants or french bread to put them on. No toiletries, which aren't expected, but appreciated when provided, just a bar of used soap. The towels were like sandpaper and had definitely seen better days, not like the lovely thick fluffly towels we had everywhere else on our road trip. The hostess was really lovely and had all sorts of suggestions about where we could go but I really think she needs to get out there and see what the competition is offering these days. Sadly we won't be returning to this guest house when we come back to the lovely little town of Bagnoles de l-Orne. Very disappointing end to our holiday.

Ensemble satisfaisant m

Avons passé une nuit dans cette chambre d hôte à l origine l établissement était un hôtel surprenant de voir la bâtisse quand on arrive. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et conseillés par la maîtresse de maison L établissement les chambres tout date !!!! mais cela ne nous a pas gêné La literie un peu molle à notre goût compensée par un côté douilletet le calme nous a permis de passer une bonne nuit. Le petit déjeuner était correct à ma demande j ai pu avoir du pain sans gluten rare pour être précisé !! Peut être on peut trouver mieux pour le prix l ensemble nous a satisfait
