Lovely B&B in Pays Basque

We spent two nights in Atlantikoa B&B and we highly recommend this place for visiting Pays Basque.
The room is very cosy (lots of details in the decoration) and very practical.
Veronique is a very kind host: hopefully she gave us lots of advices, as we did not prepare our stay! And she prepares very good and generous breakfasts that you can eat in the bed.
Atlantikoa is perfectly located. On Saturday we followed the coast from Bayonne to Hendaye via Biarritz, we ate in San Sebastian on the evening. And we visited the country side on Sunday: we went to Ainhoa for a 3 hours hike on GR10 and to Espelette.
And last but not least, the room rate is very reasonnable compared to proposed service!

Nice place, BUT ...

We stayed at the Atlantikoa for two nights and had booked two ensuite doublerooms with continental breakfast. The location of the Atlantikoa is great, set in lush gardens off a golf course in the middle of the Basque countryside and about 11km from Biarritz. The owner Veronique and her dog Charlie welcomed us at her place. She was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are exactly as shown online; I really loved the way Veronique decorated the rooms and the whole house! She really has an eye for detail. One of the double rooms was a bit small for two adults (it was impossible to open to suitcases in the room at the same time), the other doubleroom was not really ensuite as the bathroom was across the hallway. A small continental breakfast (which was served on a nice patio) was included in the roomrate; wifi was free of charge. The one thing we did not really like about the Atlantikoa was the fact that it is not really a B&B or pension with a number of bedrooms (as shown online); in fact Veronique rents out two bedrooms in the house she lives in, airbnb-style. As for many (including us) this style of accommodation is a little too intimate, it would have been fairer to show the type of accommodation properly online. Even though the house and the rooms were nice, I would not have booked the Atlantikoa if I had known all the details! It would have been nice to have known earlier.

Belle échappée

Chambre conforme et propre, à la description du site internet, moderne, avec les facilités et le confort. Literie plus que confortable. Spot sur la Rhune.
Proche des sites touristiques.
Petits-déjeuners au top: tout est frais, confitures maisons, possibilité de personnaliser.
Set de courtoisie et frigo dans la chambre bien pratiques.
Douche italienne sympa.
Véronique accompagnée de ses 2 comparses à 4 pattes (Raoul et Charlie) est souriante, discrète, aux petits soins et pleine de bons conseils et adresses.
Nous sommes ressortis de ce week-end détendus.
Nous renouvellerons l’expérience prochainement avec espérons du beau temps.

Superbe endroit chaleureux et proche de tout

Nous garderons un très bon souvenir de ce petit week-end chez Véronique et Jean-Denis, Charlie et Raoul (les deux chiens) qui nous ont réservé un super accueil. On se sent comme à la maison, mais en toute intimité.
Chambre très agréable, propre, bien décorée, joli jardin, vue sur la Rhune et golf à proximité. Biarritz, Bayonne, Espelette sont très proches, il est possible de profiter de tout sans grands trajets. Voiture indispensable.
Les petits dej sur-mesure sont au top, panecakes, yaourths et confitures maison à tester absolument si vous êtes gourmand.
A refaire avec grand plaisir !

Superbe expérience!!!

Nous sommes re-passés avec ma compagne le temps d'un week-end pour son anniversaire. Nous connaissions l'endroit, très propre, très bien décoré et bien situé. Véronique et son compagnon sont des hôtes très charmants. Ils nous ont une fois de plus excellemment bien accueillis. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner !!!
