Comfortable, welcoming, clean and relaxing

A small hotel in the centre of the beautiful Bergerac. A well valued and comfortable stay with clean, modern and fantastically equipped rooms. I stayed here during one of the many intense heatwaves and the room had fantastic AC, electronic shutters and I even had a lovely balcony overlooking the square below.
The staff were attentive, friendly and accommodated my ‘pigeon’ French. They were welcoming upon arrival and also when leaving and made me feel very comfortable throughout my stay.
The pool area was fantastic. Calm, tranquil, clean and a real haven during the scorching August heat. I had a lovely afternoon just reading and swimming with only a couple of other guests.
I couldn’t recommend it enough and would love to return one day.

Great hotel, great location, great value.

Friendly staff, comfortable bed and nice room with a balcony and view of the cathedral. Good air con in our room and a lovely swimming pool in the courtyard. Brilliant location as you can walk to everywhere in the old town quite easily, as well as several lovely cafes less than 300m away. Good value, clean and convenient. Top in Bergerac for a reason.

Very friendly and helpful host Great recommendations for dinner. Bistro au Coin .
The Saturday morning markets around the church were so fresh and interesting!

We had a fantastic stay at the Hôtel de France in Bergerac and couldn't recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home.
Special mention must go to the gentleman who checked us in — he was friendly, helpful and welcoming from the very first moment, nothing was too much trouble, and he gave us brilliant tips on the local area. It's rare to receive such a genuinely warm welcome, and it set the tone for our whole stay.
The rest of the staff were equally lovely — always smiling, always happy to help, and clearly proud of their hotel. The room was comfortable and spotless, and the location is perfect for exploring Bergerac's beautiful old town, just a short stroll away.
We left feeling like we'd been looked after by friends rather than staff. We'll definitely be back — thank you to the whole team, and especially to the gentleman on reception!

Great location - lovely hotel - very friendly staff - air conditioning ( which was a huge plus in 37% !! ) 2 nd stay and would stay again !!
