Best in Bordeaux

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this hotel. Staff throughout the hotel were pleasant and always ready to assist. First impressions are important. We felt welcomed when we walked in. The check in/out process was quick and hassle free. We booked the Crazy Room on the top floor. It was bright, spacious and comfortable. Service during breakfast was outstanding. Staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast foods were delicious, including eggs made to order. The property is well maintained and nicely decorated. It is located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. We were glad to have booked this hotel. It's a great place to stay in Bordeaux.

A sublime 5* hotel

An atypical and sublime 5* hotel. The works of art are beautiful, you have to linger on the drawing of a stool, an armchair, a wall lamp, a painting...I love the decoration. The staff is very caring, not fluent and very smiling. The room with its balcony overlooking the inner courtyard is very nice with coffee and cookies. Bathroom care products are of very good quality. I liked the body oil more precisely. The breakfast is perfect with offer of eggs according to the customer’s favorite cooking, jams, homemade cottage cheese, fresh fruit...Thank you to all the staff for your welcome.

Elegance in the heart of Bordeaux

I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful this hotel is. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. They were able to recommend restaurants and book a table for us. The food and beverages were fabulous. Felt like a princess staying here. Thanks YNDO!

A disappointing stay and we would not recommend staying at YNDO

I really wanted to love YNDO Hotel. The pre-arrival communication was exceptional and had me genuinely excited for our anniversary weekend. The hotel markets itself as a unique luxury boutique property in a great location, and based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews online, it seemed to check every box.
Upon arrival, despite it being quite late, the hotel graciously upgraded us to the next room category. It was a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful start to our stay. Unfortunately, that was where the positive experience ended.
The upgraded room was located in an annex building and immediately presented major issues. The minibar refrigerator emitted a loud, constant noise that made the room unusable for sleeping. Even worse was the smell. I don't know whether someone had previously smoked in the room or if an industrial deodorizer had been used to mask another odor, but the air quality was terrible and impossible to ignore.
When we reported the problems, we were initially told there were no other rooms available. Eventually, another room was found, but it was in a category below the one we had originally booked. At 1:00 a.m., we didn't care about the downgrade—we simply wanted a clean, quiet room so we could get some rest.
The replacement room was quieter, but it came with another surprise: there were no actual windows, only skylights. The space felt dark and claustrophobic. Ironically, even the upgraded room lacked a true exterior view, featuring only a large decorative round window that looked directly onto a brick wall.
For a property charging well over €600 per night, I expected much more. The hotel seems to be trying very hard to be artistic, hip, and unconventional, but for us it completely missed the mark. The rooms felt inexpensive, the property felt tired and in need of refreshing, and the overall experience did not align with a luxury property or price point.
The location was also disappointing. While opinions on neighborhoods can vary, we found the street surrounding the hotel to feel dingy, dirty, and uncomfortable, especially at night. It did not provide the charming Bordeaux experience we were hoping for and certainly did not feel like a luxury hotel setting.
After one night, we canceled the remainder of our stay and checked out. We simply were not comfortable staying any longer.
My advice to prospective guests is not to rely solely on the hotel's photography. Looking back, I understand why many of the images are shot from highly artistic angles—they don't provide a clear sense of the actual room layouts, views, or limitations.
We travel extensively and frequently stay in luxury boutique hotels around the world. We appreciate properties that feel authentic, immersive, and reflective of their destination. I truly wanted YNDO Hotel to be one of those places. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we've had in recent years, made even more frustrating by the premium price tag.
