Located within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants at the harbour 10 minutes to walk into the town up lots and lots of steps!
Free street parking which was close by and easy
Breakfast excellent
Brest isn’t a pretty town but a great base for exploring the amazing Brittany coast

Unpleasant hotel - Avoid

Asked for secure parking at initial booking - NO REPLY. Wrote a request for secure parking in French - NO REPLY. Telephoned hotel a couple of days before my stay to confirm Secure parking and availability of restaurants on Sunday evening of my stay.
Told Secure parking was available and that restaurants a short walk away would be open for meals.
Arrived at hotel - Garage door is broken there are NO restaurants a short walk away with food only bars with bawdy drinkers. Felt strongly that I had been misled by Ibis staff.
Hotel is dirty photo taken of cursory mopping of toilet floor. Dust accumulated along skirting boards in corridor areas.
If this was my first stay in an Ibis hotel I would never stay in another. This hotel is a disgrace to the brand !

Beautiful from afar but far from beautiful

The room was uncomfortable, no mini refrigerator, but especially a lot of mold in the shower, black grout, and the state of the floor was questionable.
Water flowing outside the shower and spreading into the bathroom (risk of falling), and the worst is the mattress: a huge hole in the center that caused me back pain all weekend.

You little flat!

Hotel superbly decorated, comfortable,
BUT a big downside for the young man at the reception who was PERFECT and full of goodwill..... but who alone could not handle it and the arrivals, and the phone, and the orders at the bar, and pizza order.... I am angry to see this!!!
! Congratulations to him who kept smiling until the end.

Comfortable stay in a neat room with a great view

I spent a couple of nights here while on a business trip to Brest. I appreciated the unique touches that the hotel has - like the fact that the rooms each have interesting names and are decorated with cool maritime art. The books in the rooms are pretty cool too. I loved the fact that I had a little private balcony with a view of the port (not all the rooms have this though) and a small table with chairs, so that I could just sit or stand out there and enjoy the fresh air without even leaving my room. I liked the arrangement of the room, it was both functional and cute in terms of the effective use of space. I instantly felt comfortable. The breakfast was decent, the location was easy to find and the staff were cordial. Overall, I felt that the room rate offered good value for money. I would happily stay here again.
