Very nice servers

Even with a long wait, the servers who assisted us (Dorian, Élodie, and Babeth) were really top-notch. We laughed a lot and had an excellent evening.

Despite a nice location and smiling staff, a mixed experience

A superb setting, lush and quiet, in the heights of Calvisson.
Our cabin was quite well located since it was separated from the others (which is not the case for all the accommodations), with a private jacuzzi and close to the pool. The choice of wall colors is unique, but it in no way spoils the comfort of the room: spacious, a very large shower, separate toilet, and very good bedding.
The pool and restaurant area are nicely laid out.
But, given the price paid, we expected more than just an Instagrammable showcase. Too little space to settle in at the pool, there are fewer lounge chairs/beds than people present on site (perhaps the peak season effect), the breakfast is too sugary (excess of pastries, cakes, pancakes) and too few fruits (2 types even though we are in the middle of fruit season in the Gard). A favorite for the "private" relaxation area which allows for the break we were looking for during our romantic night.

Not to be repeated

1 - Error with the reserved cabin, no view, everything is dark (so in 2 nights we had to move) in this room, neglected paint, holes in the walls not filled in, a towel rack next to the toilet and nothing in the shower, no effort behind the TV, no cable covers, another hole... The kettle was present but no outlet... curtain rod hanging, disgusting light fixture, dirty air conditioning. Exterior neglected, all the stones are crumbling on the stairs, dried-out vegetation... Pool, don't look for the second one, there is only one, well, it's a wading pool, very full compared to the number of rentals, lounge chairs occupied and often doubled, people put their towels on the beds and go sit on the lounge chairs, double occupation and people remain standing because of them... The pool bar opens on time when they want... no coffee available and beer tap machine broken, the waterfall only in the photos, the sound of people's feet splashing, that's all... it's morbid, no one dares to speak, and finally, don't brush against the edges of the pool, you risk strongly getting a part of your body sucked in... Restaurant, if you book, definitely ask for a decent view and not a view of a disgusting fridge... In our experience, only the breakfast was decent and the service and welcome from Marie Lou, if no changes, we will not return, especially we will advise against it... Thank you for thinking of the customers who expect services that live up to your beautiful photos, and your photographer is talented...

More appearances than being

The website promises an "Eco Resort & Spa". Eco is/would be different. We had unfortunately booked 9 nights, of which only 1 night spent there, in which we could not sleep for a minute. In our so-called "luxury villa" 8 Wi-Fi routers radiated, 3 of them in maximum strength (own villa, admin and IOT). We had only expected that of our own villa. Such high levels of radiation during the night are demonstrably harmful to health. This is really not to be expected in a 5-star Eco Resort & Spa!
And because the lock to our bungalow also jammed (the building engineer could not solve the problem sustainably), we felt compelled to move to another hotel.
The management was not available to us at all, as it is located in Asia ... The local officials did not show a shred of understanding and did not meet us for a euro – this in the poorly booked mid-season at the beginning of December. So we involuntarily gave Villa Occitana around EUR 1600!
The plus point was the excellent food in the Skybar.
Other negative points:
– Road noise
– Cheaply built villas, pipes are open around.
– Shower heads were calcified, hot/cold water barely adjustable.
– Toilet door could not be closed properly
– Private Jacuzzi was not freshly filled; you bathe in the water of the last guests.
The hotel deserves a maximum of 3, never 5 stars!

Awful

As someone who has been to villa occitana multiple times in the last few years, I left extremely disappointed and will more than likely never go back unless it changes back to the way it once was. Previous times I have visited, most recently April 2025, before my last visit, the menu had been the same and the drinks were the same delicious cocktails. However, I’m not sure if there has been a change of ownership or what the story is but it has completely gone downhill. Previously cocktails were delicious, original to villa occitana, extremely great value for money. The cocktails myself and my boyfriend got this time, I don’t think you can even call cocktails! They were watered down, almost tasted like no alcohol in them, in miserable slim Jim glasses and charging the same price!! Absolutely awful. Next was the food…. I had hyped up this place to my boyfriend, ranting and raving about the food. Well once again we were extremely disappointed. We had a “beef salad”, that had 4 small pieces of beef and was on a bed of noodles that were soaked in what just tasted like vinegar. Next we got crispy prawns, the prawns hadn’t been cleaned, still visibly dirty on the inside! The other food we got was okay but again nothing special and nothing we would go back for. The staff were also very rude and seem incompetent. We were never asked how we were getting on, we asked for water never received it, placed on a crammed table for all our food. We had planned on staying for the evening , specifically booking on a Saturday evening where we could spend the night having some cocktails and relaxing to end our holiday. But that was far from the case, we couldn’t have gotten out of the place any quicker and instead left and went to another local restaurant were the food and drinks were much tastier and better and for a fraction of the price. I’m never a person to leave a review, but with this place that used to have such a high standard of food and drinks to go downhill so quickly in the space of two months is absolutely shocking. And I speak for myself and family and friends we will never be back unless we see huge changes back to how it used to be!
