Good address in Niolu

Pleasant stay, we were very well received by the owner of the premises who gives very good advice for hiking and visits to the Niolu. Room and breakfast very good. Beautiful view of all the mountains that surround the Niolu Valley.

Wonderful location

The drive across from Bastia and on to Porto is stunning. In the middle is the little village of Casamaccioli and looking down on the village is Casa Vanella. Our room in the main house had the most wonderful view that you could dream of. The owner is pleasant and welcoming, room facilities are good with very comfortable bed. We had hoped to have dinner there but the owner informed us that we were the only ones that would be eating and it would be better to go to the restaurant just down the road, fortunately it was very good! Breakfast was good, but a bit expensive at 12 euros per person, although it was nice to sit at the table and chat with the other guests.
A great place for a short stay in a beautiful area.

Excellent and charming

The view over the village and the surronding mountains is spectacular. Our host was is an hiking expert as well as an expert in the history of Corse.
Dinner is served at a common table for all guests. Some knowledge in the french language is handy, but not necessary.
Moderat prices. Good food and local wines.

The feeling of home

A trip to Corsica is not complete without a visit to Casa Vanella. Our 4th visit here has been as fantastic as the others. Wonderful location - quiet, with a fantastic view of the mountains that is especially beautiful at sunset. Wonderful food - local and homemade specialities with many ingredients coming from their own garden. Super setup and atmosphere for meeting and talking with the other guests. The latest upgrade of relocating the kitchen and dining area allows a view of the mountains during mealtimes. Jean Francois is also very entertaining, and can tell a lot about the local area and give good recommendations for hikes at all levels. Hiking arrangements can also be made via Vallecime which is run by Jean Francois and Pascale. For another great experience, check out their sister B&B Casa Capellini in Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio.

Absolutely marvelous

I can't begin to describe how wonderful our stay at Casa Vanella has been. It's completely off the beaten path, so you get a genuine corsican experience without the usual tourist overvrowding by the sea. The service was professional and polite, the rooms above standard and the food unforgettable.
It's absolutely worth the detour for a few days even if you are a sea lover. If you are a lake and mountain lover, go nowhere else!
