Lovely ground floor room with small outdoor space. Bath and shower. Nice spa and sauna. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would certainly return.

Be warned about the construction
We had stayed in the hotel a few years ago and liked it so we stayed again in May this year. Just beware. We booked a more expensive room to have a view of the mountains and a balcony. Well, the distant view of the mountains was lovely but right next door and directly beside our tiny balcony was a huge construction site. It looked like something had been demolished and a new building was starting to be constructed with all the heavy equipment such as crains and pile drivers. The workers started at 7am and finished at 6pm so there was no point having a balcony to sit on for an evening drink as there was actually a pile driver banging away right beside us.
As you can imagine we were both very disappointed and quite angry we weren't advised there will be heavy construction right next door. When we conveyed our concerns to the lady at reception she was quite dismissive, shrugging her shoulders and saying they are busy this time of year and can't tell everyone about the construction. She offered us a basic smaller and cheaper room without giving us back the difference in price, which we rejected.
OF COURSE they should tell all the future guests who booked rooms on that side of the building. That's outrageous. They didn't even offer to discount our rate or offer any type of compensation whatsoever, which is just pain bad service, penny pinching and not acceptable. It's obvious why they don't alert future guests - because they might lose business.
Also the 'balcony' was tiny, possibly less than 1 m deep but there was a rampant vine engulfing the whole railing and beyond which made it almost impossible to enjoy sitting there even without the construction noise.
The TV constantly pixelated, there were no cups, saucers,spoons, no fridge, no wine glasses and not even plastic cups in the bathroom. I don't know if this was normal or if the person doing the room forgot to put them in. The shower was very tiny with a narrow opening into it. Lucky we are both quite slim. I don't know how a bigger person could enjoy that shower.
We couldn't be bothered going to reception again. We just put up with it and were very disappointed in the whole experience. Attached is a photo of the construction site next door and the balcony we paid for.
So just be warned and make sure you get a room on the other side of the building if you want to stay there.
On the plus side it's obvious the common areas are well looked after and everything is clean and fresh.

I strongly recommend this hotel.
A real shame for a 350€ a night hotel.
The room is simply impassable. The ceiling is so low that you hit your head constantly.
It is impossible to use the toilet normally: you cannot stand there. The toilet is located under a staircase, with an extremely low ceiling, which makes its use uncomfortable and dangerous.
In addition, this staircase is very noisy: constant passages over the head, no insulation, which makes rest impossible.
Access to the room is via a narrow and very steep staircase, totally unsuitable when you have a suitcase. For a hotel at this rate, it is unacceptable.
The heating was not working properly, while we are in Chamonix, in the middle of winter. A simple supplementary heating was provided, which is unacceptable at this price level.
The bathtub is damaged and space is extremely limited. The bed is stuck under a low ceiling: it is difficult to access properly and there is no real headboard to lean against.
To close the Velux window, you have to get on the bed, which is absurd and insecure.
In short: no comfort, no functionality, no value for money.
At this rate, it is a real shame.

Celle-ci est située sous les toits, dans un bâtiment ancien au charme montagnard typique de Chamonix, avec des contraintes architecturales propres à ce type de construction. Ces éléments sont précisés dans le descriptif de la catégorie et visibles sur les photos au moment de la réservation. Nous sommes conscients que ce type de chambre peut ne pas convenir à tous les profils et le regrettons.
Concernant le tarif, votre séjour a eu lieu en pleine haute saison hivernale à Chamonix, période de très forte affluence où les prix reflètent à la fois la demande, l’emplacement central de l’hôtel, ainsi que les prestations proposées dans un établissement de ce type.
S’agissant du chauffage, nous sommes désolés pour le dysfonctionnement rencontré. Une solution temporaire vous a été apportée immédiatement afin de garantir un certain confort durant votre séjour.
Enfin, nous tenons à rappeler qu’à titre de geste commercial et de bonne foi, nous vous avons remboursé la place de parking lors de votre départ afin de reconnaître les désagréments rencontrés.

Beds were fine but pillows were not great. The room could have used an additional fan for the hot weather. We enjoyed the sauna and soaking tub access, and breakfast was good. The downside was the 3:45am wake up and ongoing noise in the early morning from the deliveries to the market across the street.

No lift and narrow stairs so difficult with bulky cases. Also no air con and room very hot. Building site out back noisy after 8am.
