Hotel that charges in full a reservation that can be cancelled, without any compassion in the face of cancer

I booked at the B&B Hotel Paris Porte de Châtillon for my friend when I myself was being treated for breast cancer and had just undergone a heavy operation. My condition was so fragile that I completely forgot to cancel on time as my friend who was supposed to stay at the hotel stayed with me.
My reservation clearly specified free cancellation until the same day at 2 pm with in case of no-show a single night charge. However, the property billed me for the entire stay stating that my reservation was non-cancellable, non-refundable, which is false since my confirmation indicates otherwise. Worse still, when I tried to cancel via Booking, the app always returned a technical error. Screenshot in support.
Despite my explanations, despite my offer to provide medical justification, despite a dramatic human context, the only response received was a categorical refusal without compassion or flexibility.
I find this deeply shocking. In such a serious case, there was no listening, no gesture, no humanity. I was opposed to contractual conditions that do not even correspond to my actual booking. It is both an injustice and a practice that amounts to scamming.
I share my experience so that everyone knows what to expect, a rigid establishment, deaf to the distress of its customers and which charges above what is indicated in the confirmation.

Does not deserve its 3 stars

I spent 3 days and 3 nights. Horrible bathroom, clogged but nothing was done. A disgusting and damaged floor. A set really......I don't recommend it!

Terrible experience

This has been a horrific experience. The airco in the room can only blow hot air, so the temp in the room was above 27 degrees. A collegue reported the airco issues to one of the service guys, and he started laughing (instead of doing something). When you open the window sleeping is impossible because of the noise coming from the street, so you have the choice between boiling in the room or sleeping on a highway. The towels were probably good in 1995, but need to be replaced urgently. All the vending machines in the lobby were out of service. The only good thing was the breakfast, which was good for the reasonably price. Also, the hotel is terribly located with regards to public transport to get into the city. It takes you 1h in public transport and walking when you come from Gare Du Nord.
