Wonderful place - a tiny paradise! I wish I had had more time. Super comfortable room with a powerful yet quiet A/C. The restaurant only serves a gourmet menu - but it was excellent and not expensive. Very nice pool (which lacked parasols).

possibly the nicest outside view of any restaurant in the Dordogne.

I went back after an absence of a couple of years. The view outside from the terrace is possibly the nicest of any restaurant in the Perigord - except maybe the chateau the Treyne -. We liked the coypu peacefully swimming around in the large pond in front. There are only few vegetarian on the menu, but the chef was able to concoct a fine selection of dishes including a creative one based on mere carrots. The service by young, very nice, waiters and waitresses is still a bit haphazard at times. Dogs are welcome ;-). I will go back more regularly

This is truly a special place! Absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life! Staff was very helpful and the setting is gorgeous! Not inexpensive but worth every dime. Wish I had a room with a shower, but otherwise everything was exceptional! Look forward to coming back!!

Charming and relaxing ... Will return

A really very charming and relaxing place. Beautiful rural setting and an understated elegance throughout. The owner and staff were superbly professional and accommodating. They kindly upgraded us to a large room overlooking the river. We had a meal at night and the breakfast - both excellent.

Our second home in the Dordogne

Accustomed to staying in beautiful hotels, we discovered at the Manoir d’Hautegente much more than a 4-star establishment: a true haven of peace where you immediately feel at home.
Ideally located, about thirty minutes from the most beautiful sites in the Dordogne and only 15 minutes from the Lascaux caves, the manor is accessible by a charming landscaped path that crosses a small bridge over the river. Upon arrival, the setting is enchanting: a centuries-old character home, magnificent gardens, a romantic terrace by the water, pretty free-roaming chickens, and an adorable dog that contributes to this very special atmosphere.
The welcome is exceptional. The entire team is smiling, attentive, and always available. You can tell that every detail counts. A big bravo to the manager, who passionately ensures that every guest has an unforgettable stay.
Our room was spacious, air-conditioned, perfectly equipped, and full of charm. Here, you are far from standardized luxury hotels: the character and authenticity of the place make all the difference.
The large pool, surrounded by trees, is a true cocoon of serenity.
Finally, the restaurant alone is worth the detour. What a wonderful surprise! Refined, creative, and perfectly mastered cuisine. Every plate is a delight. A huge thank you to our Sicilian sommelier, whose expert advice on wines, good humor, and magnificent accent enhanced each of our meals. A big thank you also to Capucine, for her professionalism, her kindness, her smile, and her attention at every moment. Both of them contributed greatly to making our stay even more memorable.
We stayed for three nights and we are leaving with only one desire: to return. For us, the Manoir d’Hautegente is not just a hotel, it is now our second home
