Comfort, thoughtful touches, kindness, and treats
We had an excellent stay at the Domaine de Dolomieu.
The welcome, the staff, and the setting are very pleasant.
The pool is not huge considering the size of the place, but it does the job very well.
A nice surprise, we had 1 hour offered at the SPA per night occupied, and between the musical shower, the jet pool, the jacuzzi... This moment was the little extra at the end of the day.
The big plus, the brasserie Le 205, whose staff is adorable, the terrace is very nice, and the appetizer-main-dessert menu at €39 for really refined dishes. Bravo for this incredible rice pudding!
The downside, the annex buildings where most of the rooms are located are quite plain and modern, and arriving between the gray common areas, the gray carpet in the rooms, and the small window, we have a bit of the feeling of arriving at a work seminar . But the details, the comfort of the bedding, the soundproofing, and many other little things made us forget this first impression.
To be repeated when we pass through this region again.

Meh!!!
Came to have a good evening
We ordered an appetizer
2 mojitos (with no rum flavor, so just sparkling water)
Asked for an explanation with no response.
Because of that, we didn't stay to eat.

Would badly recommend this hotel
Overall, we were unfortunately very disappointed. The hotel has beautiful surroundings and a great potential, but the service, hotel experience and especially the restaurant/bistro do not live up to the standard and the expectations that the hotel website creates. Unfortunately, this is not a place we would return to or recommend.
We arrived at 3:36 p.m. and check-in is from 4:00 p.m., so it is of course fair that the room was not necessarily ready. What surprised us was that the hotel also did not allow the other guests to check in, as the rooms became ready it is a service that many hotels offer today.
It was also a disappointment that the hotel is not located in the castle itself, but in a side building. It can be seen on Google Maps if you look into it carefully, but the hotel’s marketing gives a different impression. Like the photos on TripAdvisor!
I can also confirm what several previous guests have written: It is difficult to find the right entrance and reception. We parked at the castle parking lot, but it turned out to be only for the gourmet restaurant. The hotel and reception are located in a separate building.
The pool area also did not live up to expectations. Several guests brought their own drinks and even picked up wine coolers in the bar for their own bottles. Drinking beer and private wine were brought by the pool, and children sat in the pool and ate sandwiches. It was clear that a larger group of guests had made the pool area their own, and at no time there was staff present to handle the situation. It did not give the peaceful atmosphere you would expect in a hotel.
Many guests reserved sun loungers with towels and the staff did nothing to enforce the rules or remove the unused towels.
There was also a shortage of towels. The towels you got in the room should also be used at the pool.
We chose to give the restaurant/bistro a chance and set ourselves to the table with a positive expectation. Unfortunately, the experience was another big disappointment.
Since it was Sunday, the restaurant did not serve the normal menu, but only a fixed menu for 49 € per person. It consisted of a common snack, optional main dish and optional dessert.
The courts seemed clearly prepared in advance. They were served less than five minutes after we placed the order, giving the impression that they were just ready in the refrigerator
The main dish was unfortunately the worst restaurant experience we have had in a long time. The pictures speak almost for themselves. The dish was swimming in oil, the food was appetizing and lacked both taste and quality. We had difficulty eating it and were genuinely surprised that a hotel that markets itself as a 4-star Château serves food at this level.
For dessert, I chose cheese. It was served directly from the fridge and was ice cold, which made the taste not come to its taste.
It is therefore a pity to leave a place with such beautiful surroundings with such a disappointing experience. We agree with several previous reviews that the bar prices are reasonable and the staff were generally friendly when approached. Unfortunately, it does not exceed the overall experience.
