A brilliant family holiday

We had a brilliant time at the site with our 4 and 1 year olds. There’s so much to do, and we spent A LOT of the week in the pools! As well as a couple of excisions offsite, we also did the pedalos, mini disco, low ropes, tennis, pony ride… We thought the whole site was very clean, the staff were really friendly and the food in the restaurants we tried (pizzeria and creperie) was fab. The shop was also very reasonably priced. We can’t recommend it enough.

SON ASSAULTED IN POOL CHANGING ROOM

While the site facilities are fantastic, thats all fine until something serious happens on site.
My teenage son was physically asaulted by an French man, he grabbed my son by the throat in a prolonged attack that lasted three to four minutes, held him against the wall by the throat, and took his bose headphones. My son chased after him and got his headphones back. This man then waited for my son in the shoe area..... but we were there, my son went straight to his dad and told him what happened.
You might ask why this happened, my son dropped his euro for his locker, he picked it up and the French man snatched it out of his hand saying it was his euro! My son is very small, slight in stature, and has Aspergers. So he was traumatised by this.
I had to kick up an absolute fuss to get someone to help up, this man was abusive to staff and walked away before security arrived.
Only when independent witnesses from the changing room came over and gave their account of what that man did to my child did the security offer to take my husband and son down the park to try find the man.
They found him, he was still shouting in French about his euro, they took his name and that was just about all they did.
Two days later my son spotted this man having lunch with his family, he absolutely broke down at how this violent man was allowed to stay on site.
We had to go to the Eurocamp office ourselves, the camp security had not notified the eurocamp reps that one of their campers, a child I might add was physically assaulted and had his property stolen by a grown ass man!
Jenny from Eurocamp contacted the park manager who informed us he was removed from the park, but we knew he wasnt because we saw him having lunch in the restaurant.
There was no police report done, despite me asking security why they were just letting him go and why weren't they calling the police.
Then to add insult to injury, basically eurocamp have told me its not their problem, my issue is with Domain Des Ormes and l would have to take a civil case against them! So eurocamp are happy to take your money, but not happy when you have an issue with safety and security protocols on site. I will say all the eurocamp staff were very apologetic and very polite. But there is a massive failure with security and communication between the two venders.
Our holiday was ruined, my son didnt leave the cablin for an entire week after what happened, Jenny from eurocamp did call to us a few times to check in on how my son was doing and we were very grateful from that.
But on the whole we feel very let down as out complaint was just brushed under the carpet and there was no accountability for this man assaulting my child.
Eurocamp and Domain Des Ormes you could do so better to keep your clients safe.

Moderate

We went with our baby and almost toddler. The weather was not ideal, beautiful park
But animation really... nothing. For the little ones! From four years old you can leave them at a children's club, but for the little ones, almost toddlers, there is nothing. Not even the option to tinker somewhere, Jean not coming inside. The child must be handed over and stay all day. Few Dutch people have claims, so a chance to make friends. Camping is fine for athletes. But go somewhere else with your little ones if you want animation, like a mascot or fun shows/activities!

Disappointed. Sadly.

Hotel is aging and poorly built so that the rooms do not have air-conditioning, or a fridge, and staying on floor 1, I could hear everything going on in the room above me, constant footsteps. The reception claims to be manned 24/7 and isn't so I couldn't get a drink at the hotel bar on either of the two nights. For some reason I can't understand, the doors to the toilet and seperate shower rooms are fitted with powerful closing mechanisms which require Herculaneum strength to open them, once wrenched open, they close immediately with force and noise. I resorted to jamming coat hangers in both to keep them open. The safe didn't work. The facilities of the village are lovely but exceptionally busy. The hotel staff were pleasant but couldn't provide a fan in the unrelenting heat. The toilet roll holder was coming off the wall and the shower soap dispenser had fallen off and been put in a rack at the other dry end of the shower. My bin was emptied once and the bin bag and contents were left on the floor next to the bin, which had a new liner in it. I paid over £200.00 including breakfast one morning, for two nights. I was gently amused as I was visiting family members staying in the chalets. But it's not really up to standard in the more oppressive heat of August and needs an upgrade.
