Outstanding!

Chateau de flee is not a hotel nor a B and B, but rather it is an experience all its own. It is that of being a privileged guest in a beautiful home with warm hospitality and magnificent surroundings! The Bachs are wonderful people as is Lulu the Great Dane!

A Very Special Place

I have to say we really enjoyed this Chateau. What a history that it was built and owned by Louis XV's Treasurer. A magnificent place to stop and relax for a few days. Marc and his wife made us feel at home with Lunar the dog, who is the size of a horse.
A BIG thank you to you both, I want to come back with the family. The town of Flee is so small and the drives through the local villages are seen to be enjoyed. Just a truly wonderful experience for 3 nights. A lot of hard work has gone into this Chateau a must vist.

A very special and unforgettable experience

Staying at Chateau de Flee is like time travel in history of France! Its not just some French Chateau its life project of the owners Marc and Danielle who spend already 30 years doing restorations of an old 18th century building. They will welcome you and surround with care no other hotel can provide.

A truly magical experience....! Top marks all round!

I don't think these few sentences will quite sum up our experience at Fleé....magical, authentic, welcomed and charmed are a few words that spring to mind though.
Having planned a trip to Annecy and back via car, I researched somewhere to stay in the Côte d'Or region for the leg home. Having now experienced probably the finest example of hospitality France has to offer, I half wish I had just planned all four nights here, rather than just the last night!
This is a truly magical experience, Marc and Danielle (and Luna the Great Dane!) are super hosts, who go above and beyond the standards you'd expect from a B&B, in fact, the personal touch here felt in excess of most 5* hotels I have sampled.
As well as learning a history of the mansion, and touring its interior beauty and charm, we experienced some fine alcohol, courtesy of Marc and Danielle, produce of the Chateau itself.
Marc was happy to arrange a reservation at a local Restaurant, as well as provide a nightcap tipple for our return in the evening too!
I really didn't want to leave :( but if you are in need of something a little special in this region then do not hesitate to book, worth every penny and more.
A big thanks to Trip Advisor for bringing this to my attention, and I hope it provides many more happy visitors for my favourite hosts.

A magical castle which redefines tranquility

Chateau de Flee is the best private accommodation my wife and I have ever stayed at in our 13 years of world traveling together. The property belonged to the Treasurer of Louis XV back in the 1760s and I must say every bit of the charm is being restored by the most wonderful hosts, Marc and Danielle. The reception is perfect, the guest suites are perfect, the all important bathroom is equivalent to that of the ShangriLa's (except double the size), the massive dining room is perfect, the sitting room (which has the acoustics of a concert hall... I played violin in there all night long) is perfect, the rustic kitchen with the gigantic fireplace is perfect, even the corridor is perfect... Sir Marc and Lady Danielle are the warmest hosts you will ever meet and the breakfast and cognac they serve are perfect. Not only does Marc speaks English ... he is also a brilliant trip advisor himself! By the way the address of the Chateau on this page is wrong... probably someone trying to keep this Burgundy diamond a secret??
