Booking made directly with the hotel, Very Good Welcoming, Quiet hotel with parking and with stunning views of the Gavarnie circus this direct access for breathtaking hikes

Avoid, Staff is dangerously agressive.

Several years ago , 8 of us made a bike trip to Gavernie and stayed at the hotel . The past experience was enchanting.
This time we traveled to Gavernie just for the day, and three of the friends were new.
We showed them around the hotel -not inside as we did not book - and walked through the parking lot.
Suddenly an old man with a bike came shouting to us and in an unjustified manner - we re 60 year olds and more -
During the monologue , the bike man made a call and we thought this would be good for us.
Unfortunately a lady on a bike also , came and without prior notice she started to agresively shout to us and grab us more over hit us.
We tried again to explain that we had been former customers of the hotel in our foreign French, but she started with Spagnolnde merde - we are not Spanish - and from there with her feet and arms intended to hit us all the way up to the fence - hence had been open -
Later on, the restaurant nearby told us this was an unfortunate issue, but very common. Google reviews confirm it.
The owners of the hotel are not doing any thing to readdress this agresivity, and I think local authorities should take part in this issues; moreover seek medical help to this couple.
Avoid this hotel, not to think what can happen the day a major issue aroused during the stay. For sure they would close this electric fence , and nobody knows
We tried to call gendarmerie, but as we were late , decided to file a complain to the city hall upon our return.

I give a minimum rating because unfortunately, one cannot rate lower.

Shame on their welcome.
Unpleasant staff.
They claim the circus site as their own!
Everything is paid, including parking, etc.
Rooms at 170 euros are not worth a Formula 1.
Avoid this place; it is a tourist trap run by disrespectful people.
The circus and the site are worth much more than that.

Nous ne retrouvons aucune trace de séjour ni de réservation, et les informations mentionnées sont inexactes (notamment le parking qui est gratuit et les tarifs des chambres).
Les remarques sur l’accueil laissent d’ailleurs penser que cette personne n’est jamais venue dans l’établissement.
Ce type de commentaire anonyme semble davantage destiné à nuire qu’à refléter une expérience réelle.

Stunning views from the room and very friendly staff. Parking easy (and free) in perfect spot for hiking in the area.
Nice little village for a couple of nights stay with a couple of good places to eat.

Beautiful, old stone building. View from the front terrace and dining room is looking right at the Cirque de Gavarnie. Great access to hiking trails around this Cirque and also access to hikes into adjacent Cirques. The room was basic and dated, but clean and comfortable, nonetheless. A few oddities like no place to hang a towel, or the hall light didn't turn on when leaving the room (motion sensor was at the elevator end of the hall). Lydia was extremely warm and welcoming and fun to talk with. She even pulled out a topo map to help me plan several hiking routes.
