Not so nice...
I share the beauty of the house, the very sure taste regarding the decoration as well as the quality of the bedding and the very nice bathroom with walk-in shower (we had the Treron room).
Regarding the Welcoming, which was expeditious about us, how does it why the native Dutch hosts do not speak a word of French when we come to welcome you?
My spouse, who speaks little English, was totally excluded from any conversation. For people who love France and want to promote interactions with local people, I am very septic...
The house being in the middle of nowhere and the guests not offering dinner, it takes 30' car to be able to eat and the reservation remains at your expense.
Regarding the quiet mentioned on the website (very well done), no way to cool the room during the heatwave, no fan proposed. We tried to sleep with the windows open but the church, very close to the house, rings twice the hours and half hours. I am the first to appreciate this Village Mood but usually the bell towers stop ringing after midnight. Needless to say, we slept very poorly despite quality bedding.
Breakfast is excellent, we wanted to have it around 8am but Peter imposed it on us at 8.30am. We got off around 8:35 am and all the other guests were already present. I'm speaking fluent English.
In conclusion I do not think the philosophy of guest house is well integrated by the owners. Very disappointed by this experience and despite a very nice house, we do not recommend this place yet popular...
Contrary to the reviews already posted, I would be much less enthusiastic about this guest house.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. If you remember back on your arrival you would remember that you and your friend were offered wine and snacks in the garden. Your choice was staying in your room and isolate and not interact with us or other guests. Our website provides you the option to prepare for your visit in all ways, including restaurant recommendation on days where we are not cooking for our guests. You went to La Brasserie in Neris-les-Bains which is less than 15km away from us. We would have been happy to help you with booking. You might have noticed the Edith had broken her wrist and had surgery a few days before you arrival, which in combination with the very warm weather means we encourage our guest to have their breakfast in a shorter window.
We have a well defined philosophy and execution of this philosophy, its based on a intensive interaction with our guests. Yes its correct that our French is not as good as we would wish for ourselves, but with an effort from both sides we seldom experience this as a problem for our French speaking guests. In conclusion we hope our guests comes with an open mind and curiosity to explore and experience our property with us, and if they do they will.
