Breakfast was superb and the owner was very attentive.

Owner is very available and friendly. Breakfast is far superior to the other bed and breakfasts we have visited. Fresh baguette and croissants from the bakery. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit. Magnificent park. Our room as well as various central areas could use some renovation. Quality-to-price ratio is quite fair.

Felt like a princess

This charming castle has been renovated and ofcourse this is an ongoing process for such an old building. But that's the charm!
The interior is full of furniture belonging giving a real castle experience.
The nice owner is happy to tell you all about the castle and has good tips for the surroundings. We really liked our stay here and felt like a prince/princess!

Fawlty Towers???

The disappointment as we drove into the grounds….the exterior of the chateau is in complete disrepair and walking inside was a terrible experience for an overnight stay, we felt we had walked into a building site. The stair carpet is dangerously worn on the treads, with holes I was petrified we might trip and fall into a bureau that was placed in the most ridiculous place on the turn of the stairs.
The bedroom was clean if you didn’t look at the skirtings. The window would not open, hence could not close the broken shutters. The new carpet looked as though it had been cut with blunt scissors and just laid in place (see pic). The only good thing was the mirror in the bathroom!
The breakfast was terrible.
Not the chateau experience we had hoped for. We should have just walked out but arrived after a long day and couldn’t at that point enter into an altercation.
We will not return here and cannot recommend.

Four nights in the Chateau

Chateau is close to Bayeux and within easy reach of the D Day beaches and museums. The gardens are well maintained and the interior has had some restoration work that is in keeping with the period. There was outside sitting areas available and I had a very enjoyable stay.

Excellent stay!

Charming castle with its learned owner who takes great care of his guests. Elegant and spacious commander's room. A very good idea for a calm and authentic stay.
