Relaxing stay

Very well-located hotel
Very pleasant room on a high floor with a beautiful view of the golf course and sea from the terrace. Attentive and very courteous staff.
Housekeeping done well and performed early.
Fish dishes well prepared and cooked. Excellent breakfast.
Beach at the foot of the hotel with aquatic wildlife.
Swedish massage very well performed.
We only regret that there are no longer refreshing drinks in the hotel lobby.

A Four‑Star Price Tag on a Two‑Star Reality

The Pullman Mandelieu advertises itself as a four‑star luxury hotel “in Cannes.” It is not in Cannes. It is 12 km away, using the Cannes name to justify inflated, tourist‑trap pricing. This sets the tone for a stay built on marketing gloss rather than genuine hospitality.
Facilities & Overcrowding
Guests already paying thousands are charged again to use the pool and “private beach.” The beach is not private — it’s shared with a neighbouring apartment complex and is consistently overcrowded, noisy, and far from premium.
The sunbeds themselves are cheap plastic loungers you’d expect from a DIY store, not a luxury resort. And the pricing is extraordinary: €100 per day for two people for a basic sunbed package. This would be questionable even in a true five‑star hotel — here, it is indefensible.
---
Room Quality
I booked a “premium sea‑view” room. The view is beautiful; the room is not.
• Vinyl flooring throughout, no carpet
• A bathroom that floods every time you shower
• A balcony with peeling paint and visible long‑term neglect
• Fifth‑floor corridor carpets that are worn, stained, and reminiscent of a motorway motel
• A fridge provided with no minibar at all — completely empty. This is not what you expect in a four‑star hotel, let alone one charging five‑star prices.
The room feels stripped back to the bare minimum while still being sold as premium.
---
Breakfast & Service
The breakfast food is good, but the experience is poor. Staff are overwhelmed, abrupt, and inattentive. Twice, eggs arrived cold after a 35–40 minute wait. This is not a team trained for premium service.
Most concerning was the presence of a third‑party security guard standing at the breakfast entrance with arms folded, creating an atmosphere more suited to crowd control than a holiday. It felt hostile and entirely out of place.
---
⚖️ Management & Accountability
Management insists they cannot be held responsible for third‑party agents failing to disclose sunbed charges. Yet they profit directly from those charges. You cannot take the money and deny the responsibility — that is not how accountability works.
If the hotel benefits financially from a system, it must ensure transparency in how that system is presented to guests. Anything less is misleading.
We paid just under £5,000 for 13 nights. At any genuine four‑star hotel, pool and beach access for paying guests is standard. The manager acknowledged the lack of disclosure but offered no meaningful remedy.
---
Comparison Within the Accor Group
To highlight how far Pullman Mandelieu falls short: we stayed at another Accor hotel in Dijon — also four‑star — and the difference was night and day.
• Immaculate rooms
• Exceptional service
• Modern facilities
• Professional, attentive staff
• A breakfast experience that felt genuinely premium
Accor clearly understands what four‑star hospitality looks like. Unfortunately, the management at Pullman Mandelieu appears to have missed that class entirely.

Dear Guest,
I have taken note of your review and sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations.
However, your account does not reflect the reality of the exchanges that took place during your stay. At your own request, I personally handled your complaint after you declined to communicate with the hotel's operational managers.
I carefully reviewed your case and made two separate commercial proposals in an effort to address your concerns. You chose to decline both of them.
You are, of course, entirely entitled to your opinion and to share your personal experience. However, several statements made in your review reflect your personal interpretation rather than the facts. They do not accurately represent either the reality of the situation, the substance of our correspondence, or the genuine efforts I personally made to reach a constructive resolution.
I remain committed to maintaining a respectful, transparent and good-faith dialogue with all our guests, and I nevertheless appreciate your feedback as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
Best regards.

Not great

We were disappointed with the hotel, it was in need to updating, things were a bit tatty. We found mosquitos in our room and got bitten every night until we bought a plug in from the supermarket to deter them. We were very careful opening the balcony doors so not sure how they were getting in but the hotel must be aware and should offer a plug in or similar.
The most unpleasant experience was breakfast which was pretty expensive, and had the same selection every day. We were there for 5 days, it was chaotic in there, with so many guests and so noisy. The plates are nowhere near the food, bowls no where near the Frits or cereals, most tables hadn’t been cleaned and were missing cutlery. They definitely need to buy more desert spoons every day I had to eat my cereal with a teaspoon. The waitress said they didn’t have any more! I wish we’d skip breakfast and take the 22 bus just outside hotel to Cannes and eat there. Buses and trains were great, all on time with great air con.
Having to pay for a sun lounger was such a disappointment. I’d read the reviews before booking so I knew there was a cost but it meant I never went in the pool or sat on the beach because it would have been about 80 euros a day which is just stupid! I decided to have a massage instead at 100 euros which was very nice.
My bed had a huge dip in it and wasn’t very comfortable, and it was basic decor nothing special.
Every day we went out and enjoyed our holiday visiting Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice, Antibes and Eze. I’d definitely go back and base ourselves in Nice. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as it’s too expensive for what you get. Staff were nice enough but it missed the mark unfortunately.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback.
We are sorry that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. Please know that our model rooms have recently been completed as part of a major renovation project, which will gradually modernise our hotel.
Regarding breakfast, your stay took place during our peak summer season, when our hotel is regularly fully booked. Nevertheless, we offer a rich and varied buffet featuring sweet and savoury options, as well as a selection of detox, energy-boosting and gluten-free items, showcasing fresh, local and seasonal products, all served in a privileged seafront setting. Your feedback has been carefully noted and will be shared with our teams as part of our ongoing commitment to continuously improving our services.
The sunbed service is subject to an additional charge, as is the case in most 4-star hotels on the French Riviera. As a hotel guest, you benefit from a preferential rate. Our exceptional beachfront location also allows you to enjoy the public beach as well as complimentary access to our swimming pool.
We are nevertheless delighted to read that you appreciated the kindness of our team, your relaxing moment in our wellness area, and the opportunity to discover the French Riviera during your stay.
Thank you once again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best for the future.
Best regards,

Ok hotel, but not 4 stars

The hotel was okay, but it is in great need of maintenance. At the elevators there was a big hole in the ceiling where water poured down.
The location is nice, but it is expensive to rent a sun lounger on the beach. You can, however, lay for free on the small beach, but then you need to bring your own umbrella.
The parking worked well because the hotel offers choice parking.
We stayed in a deluxe room, but there was nothing that felt very "luxe" about it. The room had a bad smell, which probably came from the carpeted bathroom, which feels unhygienic because it cannot be cleaned properly between guests.
We had chocolate on the table and after a few hours it was full of ants, even though we lived on the seventh floor.
There was also no working Wi-Fi in the room, although it was promised. The hotel seemed to have too poor coverage or too weak routers. Wi-Fi, however, worked in the public areas.

Don’t stay here awful

Awful stay from start to finish our flight was delayed so we were 2 hours late to arrive eventually we got to the hotel around 11.30 pm we asked for the bar for a drink first to be told it was shut but then the bar man said he would let us have one drink great we thought !
We were then told we could have room service 24 hours when we got back to our room we were going to order a drink and chill on the balcony but they said it finished at 11 pm
How very odd
The next morning our friends went to breakfast we hadn’t booked this as I have lots of food allergies
They paid 29 euro each a bit steep I thought
But the most shocking thing of the sty was the sun loungers at 39 euro per person per day well !! In my life I have never been so speechless this is a joke the hotel itself is so expensive there was no way we were going to pay we set of to the beach which was gorgeous and sat on the floor looking at almost 80 euro per couple over 5 days would of been a huge bill at the end of it
I called easy jet to complain while I was there but got no joy with them at all
The hotel are missing out because we never stayed once in for drinks or food due to this we would rather take our business else where
On the day we checked out an English girl had arranged to meet the manager she said she had an electric shock from a broken plug in her room just awful and in checkout the shower we were told we could use before flying was a complete joke no hairdryers or anything
Would I go back
Absolutely NOT
The only good thing was the bus service excellent 1.80 euro to Cannes x

Dear Maria,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are sorry to learn that your stay did not meet your expectations. Following a review of your stay, we can confirm that you arrived at 11:48 p.m., just a few minutes before our bar closed. Despite the late hour, our team kindly extended the service to allow you to enjoy a drink. As an additional option, you were also directed to the casino located within our property, which offers both a bar and dining facilities.
We would also like to clarify that our reception is open 24 hours a day, while room service is available during specific operating hours. We regret any misunderstanding regarding this information.
Regarding breakfast and sun loungers, the prices are clearly communicated in advance, allowing each guest to choose the services that best suit their preferences.
Finally, the incident you mentioned in your review did not concern our hotel, but rather a conversation relating to another guest's experience at a different property.
We remain committed to providing attentive service to all our guests and appreciate all feedback as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
Best regards.
