Great apartment, and with wheelchair access

Hard to find wheelchair accessible accommodation in a convenient location for alpine "handiski" but Le Tyrol was pretty much perfect. They have one or two larger apartments with a bigger shower room (which worked fine using the plastic chair they had provided), plus a lift and level access to get in and they even kept a parking space for us right by the door.
There was plenty of storage in the little lounge diner, and whilst the cooking and sink area was small, there was also a dishwasher (which we used once) plus a microwave and a combi oven (which was too high for me but my son could just about reach it!)
The apartment is quite "compact" and one of my sons slept in a bed in the passageway, but he had his own bathroom and so it was great having two. The other single bed is in a little room that you have to go through to get to the double room, so everyone needs to be quite freindly, but it was fine for us as a family!
I would say that it would be tricky for a power chair but maybe possible for a neat small one; we left it at home and just used manual, which was fine.
The views are just stunning and there is also a pool, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi (all free but not wheelchair accessible) plus laundry facilities (paid).
It was only about a 5 minute walk/wheelchair push very slightly uphill to get to the snow front and there is lift access from street level as well as accessible toilets by the ESF office.

Warm Welcoming and beautiful establishment

Looking for a quiet place, we opted for La Rosière because its ideal location allowed us to do activities in France or Italy in all weathers, and especially to enjoy beautiful hikes and with preserved fauna and flora.
We really enjoyed the stay in Tyrol. Of all the rentals we have made this is the best equipped apartment we have had.
Whether small equipment (towels, scissors, hair dryer) and amenities (swimming pool, gym ..).
Everything has been thought out to make you feel at home and make your stay pleasant.
Cultural or resourceful activities are also offered specifically for residents by the parents of the manager.
In short, we felt very welcome and advised (routes, weather ..).
We recommend this property

excellent

after 3 stays at the Panoramic, we opted for Tyrol this year. The location in the city center is very appreciable, as for the Panoramic; the apartments are very clean and functional. but it is above all the welcome and kindness of Marina and her colleague at reception that we want to highlight. Really adorable family, always ready to give hiking advice, and to share their love of the mountains. We know we will come back for another stay.

Fantastic stay again...

Our third consecutive stay in Le Tyrol and already reserved for next year. We stayed in one of the larger apartments for 8-10 people. Great accommodation which works well for two family groups staying together in the centre of La Rosiere. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious. We use the bedrooms only and don't use the sofa bed. Well appointed with lovely views. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna an added bonus for tired ski legs. Marina very friendly and efficient. La Rosiere a fantastic resort, good for families. Skiing into Italy and having the opportunity to enjoy both a French and Italian experience

Excellent experience

We recently returned from a wonderful week in La Rosiere (3-10 Jan), with 7 of us (aged 12-51) staying in Apartment 166 at Le Tyrol. The accommodation was lovely and spacious, light-filled, warm and comfortable with everything you could need and more. Although I think we were the only English-speaking residents that week, we were well looked after with the manager Marina translating to us all the information given out at the welcome drinks, and she and the other staff had answered courteously all our earlier email enquiries. Booking through Le Tyrol also gave us substantial discounts on ski hire, lessons and especially lift passes.
We didn't have much time to make best use of the beautiful pool/sauna/jacuzi/gym, as the weather and snow were perfect and we skied every day. Although you cannot ski right to the door, it's only a 10 minute walk up a slightly sloping pavement to the ski lifts or you can catch the free shuttle buses outside the Tourist Information Bureau next door, up to La Rosiere lifts or down to Les Eucherts lifts. There is a good supermarket opposite and eating out was reasonably priced too.
We arrived early on Saturday morning via TGV night train from Paris to Bourg St Maurice and were able to leave our luggage outside our room, use the toilets/shower next to the pool room and go off for breakfast, before returning to get early access to our apartment at 11am. We had collected our hire skis and were on the slopes by mid-day.
