A BREAK IN THE VINES

We were fortunate to stay at Clos de la Barbanne, an enchanting interlude in absolute calm amidst the vines.
We can only commend the warm welcome from Patrick and his wife.
The room was sublime, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the setting was incredible.

An absolute gem — perfect for families

Where do we even begin! Clos de la Barbanne was amazing from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spotlessly clean — genuinely some of the most immaculate we've stayed in — and beautifully kept throughout. But it was the hosts who truly made our stay: warm, welcoming, and endlessly generous with their time and local tips. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It's wonderfully family friendly too, so we could all relax and feel completely at home, children included. Add in the gorgeous Bordeaux setting and you have something really special. We left already wishing we could stay longer and can't wait to come back. Highly, highly recommended!

Glorious stay and wonderful welcome!

What a beautiful bed and breakfast at a gorgeous working vineyard outside of Saint-Emilion! Patrick and Marissa are magnificent hosts! Our stay was so comfortable, even in record heat in July! We were warmly welcomed to a gorgeous, air- conditioned room. Suggestions for dinner and offers to help with reservations, beautiful common spaces, a wonderful breakfast served on a lovely terrace, deli twine and a wine tasting! I cannot say enough about these lovely people and their establishment! We will be back!!

Excellent stay

Could not have been a better stay. We stayed in the lovely larger room with a comfy orange chair. The space this room provided was a welcome change to tighter spaces of European accommodations. We had a lovely winery tour with one of the owners upon arrival, followed by dinner at a nearby farmhouse they recommended, which was absolutely lovely as well. All our travel needs were met by the owners with pleasure, from breakfast at an early hour, to a steamer for my linen dress. We would definitely recommend for the setting, room and hospitality.

Magical days in Bordeaux

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts throughout the world and this is will probably rank as the best one we have ever stayed in. I came across Clos de la Barbanne thru TripAdvisor and the reviews were very accurate. The attention to detail from handwritten notes to flowers in the room to the luxurious beds is bar none. The daily breakfast on the patio is a wonderful way to start the day. We can’t say enough about the hosts Marisa and Patrick who gave us excellent recommendations on small family wine tastings and restaurants. We enjoyed touring their own vineyard and got a feel for the passion they have for what they do. If you are staying in St. Emilion or Bordeaux, look no further.
