Boutique Gem

A lovely boutique hotel not far from the beach. The staff are friendly and helpful and the air-conditioning in the rooms is excellent. Guests can use the lovely rooftop pool in the neighbouring Hotel Splendid. The breakfast is filling and the omelettes are excellent. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was my second visit to this hotel. The location is good. You can walk everywhere and it’s on a quiet street.
This time around there was some difficulty from the staff to understand that we wanted a second duvet. Since we only had one on the bed. I’m sure the person did the best he could but I did not appreciate the way it was handled. It was not a four star process and we ended up with sheets for my partner instead of a duvet and the comment “the girls are in at 8 tomorrow morning, talk to them and they can help you”. Then it was the details such as only one big towel in the bathroom. Since it was impossible for us to get a second duvet I didn’t even have the energy to bring this up. To summarise; great location, don’t expect 4star service or the basics and you will be fine.

Fantastic stay!

We loved every part of our 3 day stay at hotel Gounod! The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The room was spacious for 2 people and very clean upon arrival. The location was in prime walking distance of many activities we wanted to do, including visiting the beach and old town.
We also enjoyed access to their sister hotel, the Splendid, to use the roof top pool and bar. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Nice, looking for an intimate and cozy stay!

We’ve stayed at the hotel several times and have never been disappointed. The staff are attentive and helpful, the rooms are very spacious and well kept. The location is very central within Nice. Look forward to our next stay.

The room wasn't cleaned; we would leave in the morning and return in the evening, but the room was never cleaned. The other guests and the hotel were very nice.
