Delightful hotel

A great hotel tucked down a side street with easy access to the sites. It is a quirky hotel, with great staff members. There is a little communal terrace on the 1st floor and the beds here are supremely comfortable. The bathroom perhaps needed a bit of an update but everything worked and we had a great time in Nîmes

Perfect place to stay in Nimes

I can’t recommend this place enough, perfectly located, beautifully boutique-y it is a small hotel that feels friendly, homely and very comfortable in its own skin.
We had one of the (I think family suite?) rooms that gave a very welcome separation between us and our 13 year old. Sitting on the balcony looking across Nimes rooftops as the sun came down felt like a real privilege.
Rooms were comfortable and clean, bed was big and air conditioning excellent, WiFi also worked well.
We were worried as we don’t speak much French but needn’t have been as the owner is English, so another plus for anyone English visiting. He was super helpful in guiding us around what to do in Nimes and what was going on.
Nimes is just beautiful and this is the perfect stop off!

Just OK, needs some TLC and refurbishing

We stayed here in May 2025 for four nights. We reserved a “Double Room with Terrace” in this 3-star hotel and were very disappointed with the room they assigned to us. The shower had lots of mildew in the grout, the air conditioner made a constant ticking sound, the balcony was surrounded by metal spikes (to keep birds away) and had no plants or greenery as depicted by their website photos. The room was extremely cramped and very uncomfortable. We shared our disappointments with Andrew (the owner), and he quickly offered us our choice of three other available rooms that were in the same price category. All three rooms were considerably more appealing (cleaner, more spacious, air conditioner that did not make ticking sounds, pleasant balcony with greenery to camouflage the bird deterrent spikes). We were content with our replacement room. Andrew also gave us a bottle of wine to help smooth things over, which we appreciated. But it left us to wonder why they would first assign us to what may have been the least desirable room in the hotel when they clearly had other rooms in the same price category that were cleaner, etc. We expected that this 3-star hotel would be as shown in their website photos. However, that is not the case. The furniture is old and quite a bit banged up, with cabinet doors that do not close properly. It needs a thorough cleaning and some refurbishment. The breakfast buffet was convenient and sufficient.
The parking was a very unpleasant situation. The hotel rents a few “spaces” in a garage down the street. The garage gives the appearance of an abandoned building, with piles of dirt, trash, and debris throughout. It is also not well lit and feels a bit unsafe. The hotel’s “spaces” are not delineated at all. It is just an unmarked area at one end of the garage. There were two other vehicles parked when we arrived. Those vehicles did not leave enough room for our vehicle to safely park. When we brought this to Andrew’s attention and asked him to have the other guests repark their vehicles to allow our car to fit, Andrew simply stated that one of the guests would be checking out the next day. While the hotel cannot require that the garage owner keep the garage cleaner and better lit, the hotel certainly has the ability (and a duty) to ensure that the hotel’s parking spaces are appropriately delineated and that their guests park within those delineations.
We did not stay in any other hotels in Nimes, so do not know if this is typical of 3-star hotels in Nimes. But if we happen to stay overnight in Nimes again, we would seek lodging elsewhere.
