3-star hotel, 5-star friendliness.

Family-oriented hotel, where the staff is at your disposal with a smile. Very well located, halfway between Blois and Tours, for visiting the castles. Deserves its 3 stars for the friendliness, the hearty breakfasts, the car parking, the bike parking, the pool, and the terraces.

Homemade reheated

In 2018, we left this establishment enchanted after four nights with half board, cradled by the small attentions of a caring owner and delighted by truly gourmet regional cuisine. Nostalgic, we naively thought we would relive the same experience. What a casting error.
Upon arrival, the welcome was icy cold. Was it due to the heat wave or the stress of managing a wedding? A mystery. Fortunately, the student staff raises the level: they welcome us with a smile and a friendliness that sharply contrasts with the antipathy of the permanent staff.
Regarding accommodation, the air conditioning in the room worked wonderfully, providing a coolness that was undoubtedly mirrored by the receptionist's smile. The quality bedding at least allowed us to sleep soundly to digest our disappointments.
Because on the restaurant side, the gastronomic journey turned into a guided tour of the frozen food aisle. The famous "market menu" seems to have fallen directly off the Sysco truck. It's simple: everything is either plated or (sometimes poorly) reheated "homemade." Whether you choose the andouillette, the duck, or the beef cheeks, the sauce does not change one bit. The agri-food industry is honored here, from the main dish to the chocolate fondant or the tart.
Of course, management will fiercely deny this review, always invoking "fresh, local, and seasonal products" in tirades that almost border on dramatic art.
In short: The site has real potential, which makes the observation all the more sad. Currently, the establishment is heading straight for disaster. You can stay there without any problem, but when it comes to dining, you should definitely look elsewhere.

They keep sending me outstanding bills, when I actually overpaid for the bar bill. Initially even presenting me with a full bill including the room that was paid via hotels.com!
Either they don't know how it works or something else is going on. The staff was actually nice while staying but I don’t understand what else the want to charge me for.

Very poor welcome!!!

Very poor welcome from the hotel manager! A shame for a profession that requires kindness and listening to clients who come to recharge and have a good time!
We were not welcomed (is it because we were clients with a good Weekendesk?) and it is quite regrettable to behave this way when working in hospitality.
All questions regarding schedules (of the pool, the spa), and the course of our stay (such as the offer with welcome drinks included not applied) were subject to heated discussions. A pity for a romantic weekend that was just looking for relaxation.
I will not dwell on the state of the premises that would require work, as it does not matter in the end when one is well received!!!
We will not return and will not promote it well, we who are from the region and love coming to Chaumont, that is certain!!!

Beyond belief !!

I am saddened that my efforts to surprise my parents and congratulate them on their travels at 80 and thank my dad on Father’s Day . The customer service is beyond dreadful . The phone was put down on me 10 tens trying to order wine for my parents and explain how this would be so special … rude , unhelpful and actually obstructive. Couldn’t get email to work and asked for test email .. I was told not their job . Unbelievable . I have never experienced such hostility and lack of regard in my very extensive university of life…
Tried to reach the manager 7 times and blocked …asked to pay by card not allowed . Refusal to send wine list and offered vouchers . Asked for clarity of IBAN number to pay banks transfer . I was told literally sort of myself. Why .. no comprehension of impact and how difficult they made a nice gesture to the point I was made to feel Like a nuisance
Seriously Avoid at all costs !!!
