Nice rooms but strange hotel.

What a very strange hotel.
We arrived and checked into the hotel With no issues, the next morning we got up and headed to the pool, I heard the management complaining saying too many people where in the pool, one gentleman asked him why he kept saying this, to everyone. He said the hotel policy says no more than 15 people in or around the pool he even said he would need to call the police if people did not move away from the pool, its a hotel with about 200 rooms do they expect people not to sit out and enjoy the sun and the pool? At one point a child had a small inflatable in the pool the pool man shouted at him and said no inflatables are aloud, yet the website shows children playing in the pool with inflatables.
The camp bed they provide you is like a cardboard box, anyway we noticed it had a dip in the middle we spoke to the receptionist who said they'll send someone up, a gentleman arrived and straight away said this bed is broke they have been told to not use this room, I asked who has been told he said the hotel are aware this bed is broke it was reported last week, he left and said he will try and replace the bed but if they had not replaced it last week I don't think we will have any spare, one hour later I went to speak with them, they said they have found us a new room, I thought great, she then tried to charge me for a whole new room for the ramaining five days, I explained that the bed was already broke why should I pay again for another room, she said it's hotel policy, I informed her the maintenance man told me that this bed was broke last week and the hotel where already aware of this, she called the maintenance man over she didn't seem happy with him, maybe she was upset he had the decency to speak the truth. Anyway room change happened without paying.
Breakfast, again a very strange one, I paid €60 euros for three adults, children eat free with a paying adult, breakfast was very good with a full English on offer with plenty of other items like pancakes, pastries, yet when I tried to pay again the next day a different lady said no charge it's free but I was charged yesterday she said no no your room comes with breakfast, I asked reception because we'd paid the day before, so if it's free do I get my money back, the lady just laughed at me and said I don't speak English, well my partner can speak French so he spoke to her and she blanked him and smiled and walked away. Just baffled me.
The bar staff and room cleaners were all lovely.
One issue I had with the one bar worker was he could not do a decent beer, he would give you a pint glass half filled the rest was froth, I asked him to keep filling it up to get rid of the froth but he said no and then tried to charge me €10 I said unless I get a full drink am not paying he then got a dirty spoon out the sink and proceeded to flick the froth out and then tried to fill it up I said you've just used a spoon from a dirty sink, he then looked into the sink and could see it was dirty he apologised but still asked me to pay for it

Awful stay. go elsewhere!

Not worth the price in the slightest. Not enough staff on to deal with the demands of the bar, no kitchen staff so left with no food options, breakfast cut short by an hour and a half with no notice, ridiculous bar prices, lack of stock on the bar, no air con working in the rooms, fridges not cold in the rooms, pool way too small, pool times changed mid way through the stay and cut short by an hour and a half in the morning, quality of hot food at breakfast was awful. All in all, a terrible hotel and experience. The only good thing was that there is a Mcdonalds right next to it.

How is this 4 star? ‍♂️

Disappointed.
Dated hotel in decor, staff seemed worn down. Hotel sits on a motorway. Breakfast moved from 11am to 9.30am on a Monday no idea why.
Customer care was slack, i.e i was working harder than they were to make conversation and pleasantries.
Very expensive bar. 9 euros a beer and 5 euros a coke.
Saying that rooms were clean and good sized.
