Good area & amenities

Hotel is convenient to the Maris district and was an easy walk to the Seine & Notre Dame. Rooms are small but we had just enough space for 2. Bed was comfortable. The carpet was clean & looked fairly new. We were in Paris during the recent unexpected heat wave. Although the room was air conditioned, the vents pointed to the far wall & temps were regulated. We kept the drapes closed which helped keep the heat out. Bathroom was a good size as was the shower. Provided hairdryer did well, but the power button had to be held to make it run. We did not try the breakfast as there was a good place across the street. Note that you are required to turn your key in to the front desk whenever leaving. One evening when returning around 11pm there was no one at the desk. Waited about 5 minutes; then went back outdoors and noticed a bell. Someone came immediately when pressed.

If you ever book this hotel please make sure the room they give you isn’t the room on the lobby level. It’s the only room on the lobby level and feels like a converted maintenance closet. The air conditioner produces warm air and was noisy — they stick a tissue in it to try to relieve the noise but it didn’t work. The room smelled and felt dirty all around. You could hear loud music through the vent like it was playing in your room.
We ended up staying in another hotel because this room was unlivable. They shouldn’t be allowed to rent this room.

This hotel is in a great, central location. Beyond that there’s not much to recommend. The room is tiny. The toilet seats are very uncomfortable. The shower is unwieldy. The breakfast is lame and not worth it, especially since feet away you have wonderful cafes with much better fare for less money. Most of the staff was nice but some were unnecessarily testy.

My second time staying at the Hotel Caron. I love this boutique hotel. It is in THE best location. Le Marais is my favorite neighborhood in Paris. Staff were lovely. I'll definitely return. A bientot!
