Successful option at an acceptable price
I had five nights in a hotel. It is located in a convenient location, many sights in walking distance, subway at the side, conveniently get from the airport (I flew/flew to Charles de Gaulle). The historic building gives a special atmosphere, everything inside is in the same style. There's air conditioning, which is important for Paris and the old building. He's weak, but he's there, I was in 40 degrees and he saved at night. The water pressure was always good, cleaned every day and changed the set of towels. I had breakfast on, so convenient for me than going out (cheeses, croissants, baguette, yogurt, muesli, juices, fruit like apples and bananas). The staff is friendly. With the room I was also lucky , was on the 4th floor, enough space, the bed is large (booked single twin). There's an elevator, yes, it's tiny, but there's one, you don't have to drag your luggage up the spiral staircase.

More pluses than minuses
The location is prime, and price suited my modest budget perfectly. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was included and the same every day. This was a big advantage for me; maybe my 70-something body didn't want to find anything outside the hotel, and I need protein in the morning. Cheese, yogurt, fruit, cereal, croissants and rustic bread. I got there late one day and the croissants were gone! Soon the lovely attendant brought me a pain au chocolat! The elevator is tiny but fit me and my small luggage. The 17th century beams were endlessly fascinating. My only complaint: the toilet was not clean. Gunk was visible around the cheap plastic connectors. I cleaned a little; I know others would have run. But you can't beat the location and rock-bottom price! I'll choose another hotel next time only to be situated in another area to explore.

Clean hotel with a small, basic sleeping room and bath. Great location. We were guests during a hot spell in Paris and, truth be told, the AC was barely operational.

Excellent
The Hotel du Lys is located in an exceptional position, right in the Latin Quarter, within walking distance of many points of interest, well-served by RER, metro, and buses, and various local establishments. The hotel is clean, with rooms that have every comfort, especially air conditioning, which was very useful on the hottest days. Breakfast is very good, simple, but with both sweet and savory options available. All the staff are very kind and welcoming. We had a great time! One piece of advice: we had a triple room on the ground floor, and the outdoor space needs a bit of tidying up due to a bad smell. Thank you very much for the hospitality!

The hotel is charming just like the pictures, but not very well maintained. The sheets and bathroom were clean, but black mold in the shower. I booked a triple room and they gave me a double without asking to change it. But the other triple I booked that they gave me was absolutely amazing and fantastic, like a penthouse. We were there for insane heat and the air-conditioning in the rooms was an absolute lifesaver! One of our rooms smelled fine, the other AC was extremely musty and I kept having to open the window to air out the room. The location is absolutely fantastic and the staff are there 24 seven and very helpful. The beds were absolutely terrible I took naps on the floor because I couldn't stand getting in my bed anymore than I had to. But I had to go upstairs to the penthouse to nap because the floors in our room were so slanted. Honestly, I would stay here again if it weren't for the beds. The rest of it is doable given the fantastic location
