Works fine, Moxy has particular decor, rooms are small

I was staying here for business taking place at the Cite des Sciences et de l’Industrie. This neighborhood is quite cool — there are no tourists, and it is vibrant and modern. The hotel is adjacent the huge science museum and a gigantic park with playgrounds and other interesting things for kids.
I do not really like the sleek and edgy decor of the Moxy, but that’s me. My room was quiet and good for sleeping, but it was quite small — it did not have a chair or place to sit apart from the bed. And instead of shelves or drawers, there is this metal rack against the wall to hang things on. So I was cramped to figure out where to put my stuff and stay organized.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay with us.
We are pleased to hear that our location was convenient for your business trip to the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, and that you enjoyed the vibrant, modern atmosphere of the neighbourhood, as well as the proximity to the museum and Parc de la Villette. We are also glad that you found your room quiet and comfortable for a good night's sleep.
We appreciate your honest comments regarding our Moxy design and the size and layout of the room. Our rooms are designed around the Moxy concept, with a more compact and unconventional layout, including open hanging storage rather than traditional wardrobes and drawers. However, we completely understand that this may not suit every guest's preferences, particularly when staying for business and needing more space to organise belongings.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Moxy Paris La Villette in the future.

I was very disappointed with my stay. My room was had dirty marks on the walls, torn wallpaper. My door had a hole in it. The main sliding door to the hotel was broken. It was hard for me and other guests to get in especially at night. My last night I saw a roach run across my bed. I took pictures of everything, so hopefully I can get a refund or something soon. I tried to talk to a manager about my experience but he wasn’t available. Jean at the front desk was nice, and the bar was cool, but other than that I was very unimpressed. I love the Moxy in Washington, DC. This one needs lots of work! I loved Paris though.

Nice hotel. We stayed for the first time and it’s our first vacation to Paris. Only issue is that there’s no fridge or microwave or even a coffee machine. It would be useful to have these in the hotel.

Needs some help from Marriott

Currently staying here on a redemption of points and knew it was a risk based on reviews.
Pros
Right next to station so easy to get around and is probably the cheapest Marriott in Paris to stay at but at a price (see below).
Staff is very friendly and helpful and they try to accommodate but the hotel condition is a mess.
Some decent restaurants across the street.
Has a bar in lobby.
Cons
Would not recommend walking around alone at night as a woman solo traveler in this area. The park behind the hotel and side alleys are not safe with homeless and drug users.
Rooms are very tired and dirty - the AC vents are caked with dirt and dust, there was hair on the bathroom floor, some sheets had holes in them and the walls and baseboards had tons of stains, the windows have not been cleaned in I don't know how long. Needs a major refresh.
Hallways are beat up and the one by my room smelled like urine - I complained to the front and they did take care of it - it is a pet friendly hotel FYI.
If you want a cheap hotel in Paris then this is it - but Marriott needs to step in and update the rooms and cleanliness factor. I just used it as a place to sleep and spent my days/time elsewhere. Beds are comfy.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. We truly appreciate both your positive comments and your constructive feedback.
We're delighted to know that you enjoyed our convenient location next to the metro station, found our team friendly and helpful, appreciated the nearby restaurants, and had a comfortable night's sleep. Your recognition of our team's efforts means a great deal to us.
We are, however, sincerely sorry that the condition and cleanliness of your room did not meet your expectations. The concerns you raised regarding the air conditioning vents, housekeeping, linens, windows, and the overall condition of the room and corridors are not representative of the experience we aim to provide. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with our Housekeeping and Maintenance teams and will also contribute to our ongoing discussions around property improvements and upkeep. Guest feedback such as yours is invaluable in helping us prioritize these efforts.
We're also pleased that our team was able to respond promptly to your concern about the hallway, although we regret that this issue impacted your stay in the first place.
We understand your comments regarding the surrounding neighborhood. While our location offers excellent access to public transportation and many of Paris' attractions, we appreciate that guests may have different experiences and perspectives, particularly when traveling alone.
Thank you once again for your honest feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an experience that better reflects both our team's commitment to hospitality and the standards our guests expect from the Moxy and Marriott brands.
Kind regards,
Julia

THE WORST MOXY I HAVE EVER TRIED !

As per the title.
In a rather amorphous position relative to the city, although not bad in relation to the subway (just a few meters from the hotel entrance).
Anonymously built on the outside, I would even say ugly and austere.
Cold and indifferent welcome.
Unlike other Moxys I have visited, I do not immediately notice that young and pop atmosphere of the brand inside.
The elevators are quite slow (only 2 working out of 3).
Common areas and hallways recently renovated.
The room is small (too small) even for the standard efficient Moxy.
In the room, I find good amenities even if minimal (mini-bar, safe, etc.)
Small but functional bathroom.
Water flow is not consistent in temperature.
Very serious downsides:
1) very poor soundproofing both to the outside (we are facing a large railway station with trains at all hours)
…) and to the inside and between the floors,
2) thermal insulation to the outside is also insufficient,
3) but the worst downside is the air conditioning: too noisy, severely ineffective, truly ruining the stay! (indoor temperature 28 degrees).
Classic Moxy breakfast: quantity without much quality. Coffee machines are too slow and lines form during peak hours. I rate it as sufficient.
Mediocre quality-price ratio, for me it is worth half of what I paid.
Truly a bitter disappointment.
I do not recommend it, there are better options in the area.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your recent stay with us.
We are truly sorry to learn that your experience did not reflect the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere you expected from the Moxy brand. While we are pleased that you appreciated our proximity to the metro, the recently renovated common areas, and the amenities available in your room, we regret that these positive aspects were overshadowed by several disappointments.
We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with the air conditioning. We understand how important a comfortable room temperature is, especially after a day of exploring Paris, and we are sorry that the system was both noisy and ineffective during your stay. We also regret the disturbances caused by outside noise and the lack of sound insulation, as well as the inconvenience related to the water temperature and the elevator availability.
Your comments regarding the breakfast experience and the value for money have also been carefully noted and shared with the relevant teams, as feedback like yours helps us identify where improvements are needed.
Although our rooms are intentionally designed to reflect the compact and functional Moxy concept, we understand that this style may not suit every traveler's expectations.
Thank you once again for your honest feedback. We appreciate you highlighting the areas where we fell short, and we hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us with a much-improved experience in the future.
Kind regards,
Julia
