Awesome

Bit late putting this up as my girlfriend and I stayed here last June. Without doubt one of the best places I have stayed in. Michel the owner could not have been nicer or any more helpful. Preignac is a quiant area and this idyllic chateau was a beautiful place to stay for a quiet few days. Rooms were big and comfortable, breakfast was lovely. Chateau is a close drive or cycle to local vineyards which is a must do. Will definitely be back.

Not as expected - make sure to check when booking

Based upon reviews and pictures we decided to stay there on vacation with friends. It is a nice and romantic manor house located in industrial area, close to busy road. Old, a little worn down, beds old, and rooms ( carpets, curtains) not well cleaned. Pictures at the website looked nice, but none of the facilities were available, and it was not possible to arrange winetasting. No aircondition. Wifi poor - probably because of recent storm.
Dissapointing and not according to review, pictures and expectation.

A Loevly Location in Wine Country

The building is very old and in an excellent location surrounded by vineyards and located on the edge of Preignac village. If you approach Preignac from the Langon direction the Chateau is the first building on the left as you enter the village, it is not easy to identify as the hotel is set back about 100m from the road. If you approach from the opposite direction the entrance is immediately in front of the 70km speed limit sign on the right hand side of the road. There is a good restaurant in walking distance on the right as you leave the hotel.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, which we made good use of as the weather was excellent.
The chateau advertises wifi but apart from our first day there it didn't work. The owner was away on business and his wife was left to run the hotel, which was quite busy and all rooms were occupied. My wife had to ask for clean towels after four days and the room was only cleaned on the fourth day. Apart from this the service was excellent.
Generally we enjoyed the location and the hotel. We were there to attend a wedding and one of my brothers and his wife stayed the same hotel. Cadillac, a thriving market town, is only 7 minutes drive from the chateau and we visited the market there on Saturday morning.
I would advise the use of a satnav, especially for the journey from the airport at Merignac.

Lovely place, would go again.

We have just spent 3 nights there, and really enjoyed it.
Very warm welcome, attentive service, great location and very pleasant owner.
Good value overall.
Would definitely consider visiting again if in the area.

Château non entretenu, trop cher

Grosse déception concernant notre location du château des grandes vignes qui a dû être beau il y a un temps mais qui n est absolument pas entretenu ce qui est honteux au vu du prix élevé de la location.
Les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur, beaucoup de choses sont cassées : vitre dans le salon cassée et le verre non ramassé en extérieur a été retrouvé par nos enfants! WC inutilisable au Rdc, lit cassé, lavabo cassé, piscine avec barrière non réglementaire ( trop basse, sans fermeture), robot de piscine défectueux, balançoire cassée /instable et recouverte de clous rouillés, fuites d eau diverses, mauvaise évacuation des sanitaires, électricité peu rassurante, espaces verts non entretenus.
De plus, état de propreté lamentable, maison très poussiéreuse, même si la femme de ménage fait ce qu elle peut à notre avis, le temps de ménage pour une maison si grande doit être insuffisant et elle n a même pas un aspirateur correct pour faire son boulot!
