Minimal
I couldn’t get Wi-Fi on my laptop, though I got it on other devices and was not able to get the front desk staff to take care of it. He blamed my laptop (which worked in all of the other hotels I stayed at on this trip), which was annoying.
Very inadequate showering facilities. The shower itself was bare minimum, and the stall was so tiny that I kept banging my elbows. In the bathroom itself there is one dispenser for soap over the sink and one dispenser for shampoo in the shower. If you want to soap yourself in the shower, you have to go back-and-forth or grab a handful from the sink and spread it as best you can. Towels were very thin. There were hooks in the bathroom, which was nice. No shelf in the shower for your own personal care products, comb, etc., which are necessary, since they are not provided.
In the room, there was barely enough space to walk along the edges and we had to duck when we walked to the bathroom to avoid hitting the TV mounted on the wall. There is a luggage rack.
Breakfast was served at a cafe across the street. It was good, standard: bread, cheese, ham, etc.
If you are driving north to the Normandy beaches, we had a wonderful lunch on the way at La Marina in Port-en-Bessin-Huppain.

Good option if you need to be close to the Rennes Gare SNCF
Pluses:
1. Good option if you need to be by the Rennes Gare- it's across the street
2. Kettle and coffee/tea service in the room
3. Very kind staff
4. Walkable to all the sights & restaurants, about 15+ minutes by foot
5. Fast free wifi
6. Lots of outlets by the bed
7. Good price point
Minuses:
1. It's in the more modern part of town, on the edge, near the Gare. The medieval old town is about 15 minutes' walk away.
2. Breakfast is not free
3. Feels a bit institutional
4. Uses keycards instead of keys, which are very easy to spoof
5. Can be VERY noisy AND hard to sleep if you have a room facing the gare, AND are unlucky enough to have a room above the huge, bright-white, always-illuminated "Paris-Brest Hotel" sign

night of 12-13 Nov. 2025, c.437.
I tried an improvised "bivouac" in the bathroom sheltered from noise but very uncomfortable. No internal sound insulation also exists.
Failure to prevent this nuisance is dishonest. Unbearable outside noise.
