Charming and delightful small hotel run by the friendliest couple with delicious food.

Lovely, characterful hotel in very pretty hillside village. We were in the largest room which remained cool even though it was very hot, it was basic but the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. What stood out was the friendliness of the hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay as wonderful as possible - even drying our wet swimming things and making a special trip to buy lovely gluten-free bread for our breakfast. The breakfast was a large and delicious buffet and, if you can eat gluten, homemade granola and bread which looked yummy. We ate at the hotel in the evening and had a delicious, specially adapted gluten-free meal cooked by the husband which we ate outside in their courtyard garden. A truly memorable night and great value for money - we'd definitely come back.

A wonderful stopover

A great stopover hotel, offering a warm and most hospitable welcome, spotless accommodation, excellent dinner and breakfast, and great value for money.
We broke our drive from Bilbao to Collioure (around 8 hours) to stay here. This gave us the opportunity to recharge and to enjoy the hospitality of our guests, the beautiful village and surroundings. It was a wonderful stopover

Delightful experience in medieval France

Wonderful surprise experience in one of the oldest medieval towns in France! Searching for hotels along the way between Andorra and Bordeaux, Candide was the nicest-looking lodging in the area and what a joy to discover the town in the process. Saint-Bertrand is worth a side trip, if only for the afternoon, to explore the tiny town and large cathedral in the center.
Wonderful sleep in the quietest place on earth. Room was very comfortable, nice size, the hosts were very friendly and helpful; and the food a delightful surprise. Have dinner there and be sure to try the "house cocktail!"

Ideal for a peaceful and very pleasant stay

If you are looking for a place to relax in a peaceful environment, the Pension / Restaurant Candide is ideal! The chef will delight you by offering menus made with local products: delicious dishes from starter to dessert... a very complete breakfast to start the day with enthusiasm! Recommend with your eyes closed!

Candide... rather well studied

Let's have dinner at the restaurant in the courtyard across the street, it looks like in the time of Peynet lovers; allows to exchange between table.
