Beautiful quiet experience

Very welcome. Great kindness. With little care...great views. We appreciated the kindness of the staff and especially the room staff. Very fast and responsive. We left the sign to be able to make the room while we had breakfast and each time returning to the room, we had the pleasure of finding it clean and tidy when it was only 30 minutes..c was super appreciable. For the brewery the staff very kind and kind. Same for the gourmet restaurant. I think for the negative comments, it really depends on who you come across...because for us everything went well over a 5-day stay...even when the fan let us go, it was changed within 30 minutes...frankly I also think it depends on our own behavior and our friendliness and kindness to the staff...

Very disappointing

The location is nice, except for the rooms with a view of the parking lot and the neighbor's trash cans, like ours.
The building is an imitation of a castle, but the rooms and bedrooms are small (and very expensive for a 2-3 star).
No air conditioning in the room,
No mini-fridge.
In fact, everything is quite low-end.
Two-night stay, but the room is not cleaned by the housekeeping staff.
The breakfast is hearty and varied.
The service is haughty. We are told upon our arrival: "I prefer to warn you, if you wanted to dine here in our restaurant, it is not going to be possible, we are fully booked," whereas in the rest of the world, they would have offered to hold a table for us when we made our reservation.
The last morning before leaving, I ask for a coffee to take up to the room; the manager glares at me to make me understand that it is not their custom. Finally, I beg a coffee pod from the housekeeper.
At the moment we are putting the suitcases in the car, this same manager berates my wife to tell her that there is €260 left to pay before leaving, unambiguously insinuating that we were going to run off without paying.
I had come to this hotel 13 years ago. I had a fairly good memory of it.
I will not return. There are very many other hotels in Royan and Pontaillac where my stays went very well, and where the staff treats you respectfully.

Nice hotel, nice pool, good restaurant and magnificent ocean views.

Lovely hotel, very nice on the outside. Inside, it's classic, almost old-fashioned but meant positively. High rooms, nice lamps. Clean and well maintained. Room with sea view, beautiful to see the ocean with a powerful wind. at night the lights of the fairway and lighthouse. Nice bed, coffee in the room.
Very large and good pool.
Restaurant was also good, very good food, among other oysters.
Overall: great hotel.

Rude,unhelpful and lazy attitude.

We arrived at the Hotel (5people) and asked if we could have a table for dinner. Monday evening around 19:30. It was 32’c outside so very hot. We were told we need a reservation…..I looked around and said why, it’s empty. There were two other people in the whole restaurant. No, you cannot have a table!!!
Very rude and unhelpful from the staff. The hotel needs to look at the reviews with some urgency. We would have easily spent €200+ euro, but turned away. Lazy attitude.

Very special experience.

We had an early dinner on the terrace. Beautiful setting with amazing views. Service was polite and professional. Food was excellent. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Feels like a very special place and pretty good value when compared to mere “normal” restaurants. We will definitely return.
